  1. Take a look at a set of rules that sets up knockouts like A1 vs B2, etc. Cup tie mappings are usually how this is done. Then just do the same but put A1 vs A2 (or A4 or whoever they're supposed to play)
  2. Nothing I like better than my files being rendered obsolete. Not even joking!
  3. There seem to be two ways to set this - either as working for the main club, with job set to "Manager (U18)", or as working for "[Main Club Under-18s]" as "Manager". A club's reserves and U18s seem to show up as separate searchable entries/unique IDs (not in the search function for clubs, but only when doing things like adding current employment). I was never clear on the functional difference, if any, but I'm guessing the update has messed with one of those methods and it happens to be the one you're using? Hopefully it can be rescued with the other one
  4. That's an odd one. Are you using an extinct club anywhere? Maybe there's a unique ID issue in the latest update where Netherlands Antilles is thrown up when it can't find the proper entry (Sandy Martens anyone?)
  5. Leagues Cup hosting is supposed to be fixed, anyone made it that far in a new game in 24.3 yet and can check?
  6. My pleasure, I haven't run any in-game tests, when I get time (could be a while) I should really see how the CWC looks without my file and if it even needs these repairs anymore
  7. Done, I've verified it in the editor but haven't run a test, let me know if it doesn't look right
  8. This is updated for FM 24.3, although I haven't tested it in-game, just verified it in the editor and it didn't throw up any problems. Let me know if you see anything that looks off. Will keep working on that "team A cannot be promoted" error message, thanks @oJMPx
  9. Wow that looks brilliant. Will work on it this week, I wonder if I can do anything with an already-built set of advanced rules by changing the division type, verifying, then changing it back and re-verifying. Have you had any success with anything like that? Maybe I can import my rules or something into a fresh file but that usually seems to throw up issues. TBH I've barely touched the editor since the New Year, had some holiday time and came back refreshed and focusing on other projects. The US Open Cup news made me think about it, but for now I think I'm happy with a file that focuses on the 2023 rules and applies them forever - if SI don't plan any further than one season at a time, why should I? At least until they finish patching things so we don't get messed up by extinct or newly created teams or competitions
  10. Hmm maybe it's only taking in teams who have qualified in a certain pathway? Is the "setup date" for the competition after the World Cup has drawn its groups? Then "best teams in competition" should work, but who knows.. I was trying to do something like this in FM23 but with the bottom-ranked teams (like San Marino) but it would just take the best 48 ranked teams outside the World Cup no matter how many combinations of "reverse teams" I used
  11. As long as it draws after the WC and has "ignore teams" "best teams in competition" "world cup" it SHOULD exclude them, who knows with the editor this year mind you
  12. I haven't encountered the CTD date issue (yet) but 1 vs 4, 2 v 3 etc can be arranged with "team mappings from previous stage" in the stage, and then "cup tie mappings" in the round (use "fixed draw") - can give you complete control over who comes in where, who's hosting who, etc. If you look at my US file you can see how I've done it (might be easier to look at one of the simpler playoff setups like NISA)
  13. Guessing it's something in "ranking levels" - winner should have "current ranking" set to 2, loser set to 3?
  14. Wow, that's pretty cool. Will think about ways to implement it
  15. The tournament like has 3 or 4 set as the amount of days to schedule games around - so if there's a game Wednesday or Thursday, often it's cancelling that Saturday fixture
  16. The 24 teams suggestion is, I believe, to make sure the Leagues Cup is working, as if that's not producing a winner, the CCL often doesn't have enough teams and won't draw.
  17. Can only duplicate existing ones AFAIK
  18. Is it possible you have 2023 where 2000 (or 2001) should be somewhere in the rules? Sorry to butt in, just the specific date (2023+23=2046) makes me wonder
  19. I wonder if you could do it with a hidden stage set to draw after the CL is drawn, with "ignore teams" set to the continental teams. Then hand out prize money there. Would be a bit clunky mind you and might not show up in "rules" anywhere visible
  20. I wonder if the stage flag "don't rank teams using this stage" might help? Other than rejigging qualifying that's all I can think of
  21. Sometimes that also comes up if the set of fixture rules has a specific "competition" set itself (like under "Fixture rules"/"fixture rules 0"), possibly with a squad registration window attached (which also might have a specific competition set). If those are clashing try making them blank
  22. "other league stage flags" / "use playoff stage for seeding" (or whatever it's called)
  23. I usually leave that blank, it seems to override your own dates you've specified elsewhere. Like it decides it will just generate 30 dates of its own
