It's super demotivating but if it happens sometimes it's the best thing, hopefully you'd be able to bounce straight back up and the players will have another year of good performances under their belt. Part time training doesn't offer much in the way of development in my experience too unfortunately.

It sure is, it's pretty miserable when you know the team are capable but going on those runs where you get slammed every week. I'll keep fighting but the 1 step back 2 forward with a relegation might be the best for the team. Totally, being semi pro doesn't help with training, hard to keep players on Non-Contracts and PT contracts and you have to be on it like hawk when someone offers them deal, also, can't make a penny in player sales

@Traldon Looks like all you need is a bit of luck and you'll be making it into the top 3!! Some decent kids coming through too so hopefully that'll be your keeper problems solved.

@Johnny Ace I tried a similar challenge in the Welsh leagues a few years ago and it's a real grind getting going. Luckily you only really need 2 or 3 half decent players to be able to give TNS a run for the league and get a little bit of money from the European qualifying rounds.

I'm actually planing on starting the new keeper, although he is a little worse right now, but we'll see how he develops

END OF SEASON 32 REVIEW

Season 32 was an absolute barnstormer of a season!  After ending the previous season in the Champions League places, we entered Europe's top football competition wildly underprepared and expecting some very heavy losses... more about that later.

The opening gambit was to find out that we had absolutely zero chance of winning the Champions League according to the bookies.

CLOdds.thumb.png.21c43e05a59a4676de38ba8f411b274e.png

And then we were given our fixtures ..... lovely games against powerhouses of Europe such as Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Ajax, Benfica and Dinamo Zagreb...

ChampionsLeague.thumb.png.0b07ee49b2ba0406787869078d9461d6.png

But to help us along the way, we have the best young prospect in world football.... apparently...

NextGen.thumb.png.276d9c1d8de9695925489476bbb867fc.png

The League saw us have another solid performance and finish a very respectable 8th place. I was more delighted that we should relative consistency throughout the season.

League.thumb.png.12869a62a840a029f8039f5ccba482d3.png

The youth team performed well to, winning the FA Youth Cup.

FAYouthCup.thumb.png.a99c25027f259b74270fdc7c2fe982b7.png

And financially, we were the biggest profit makers in the league (unsurprising really given that we can't buy players!)

Profit.thumb.png.953409d9a48a402b36b5e83fc5ed2842.png

But a superb end of season run is what allowed us to finish in 8th. Just sneaking in... And with our final game of the season we cost Man United the league title on goal difference with Man City taking the crown instead!

EndottheSeason.png.bce1d1184990f6609145a24f93794b48.png

And with some funky rules and regulations the top 10 in the EPL all qualified for Europe! Arsenal won the previous year's Europa League and qualified for the Champions League and West Ham won the Champions League, allowing their entry as holders!

Europe.png.535803f465b459fdd6ef9dbaa121c585.png

Our story in the Champions League was a relative success for a first entry as we qualified from the League Phase to face Porto in the knockouts, but the journey ended there.

CLFixtures.png.9638b3a2fd2e2290cdcd6b1cc813491d.png

Unfortunately, key player and wonderkid youngster Yago Thal decided that he was better off moving to pastures new at the end of his contract and he left to join Bayer Leverkusen and then join Porto on loan.

Thal.thumb.png.9f3d41fba50049a8cfdd65fa55204aa0.png

But all in all a successful season which saw us do well in the Champions League, qualify for European football again and hold onto nearly all of our highly valuable assets. Next season we aim to focus on the league and see if we can edge closer to winning that elusive league title!

On we go to Season 33

Season Review 2030

Här gör "Henke" Larsson comeback

Table | Transfers | Finance | Facilities | Youth Intake

They usually say that the second season is worse in a new division then the first and boy did we get to feel that! From feeling last season that we are a team ready to burst into the top half this year we got competely wrong into this year as we lost the first 3 games. We were 6-7 teams constantly fighting in the bottom this season and it all came down to the last game were we needed a win and the team above needed maximum to draw. They drew but we got smashed 0-4 and relegation was determined. Sad to go down when it feels like we have a team for this division. But on the plus side we should be able to bounce back as we have a good team and they get another season of developing attributes and confidence in tier 4 again. Youth intake where okay with a lot of players that is close to first team but no star came through and insanley many people play on the left wing.

Top Scorer: (04-A)David Rosén 16 Goals | 30(1) Games

Most Assists: (05-A)Simon Wallin | 9 Assists | 30(1) Games

Best Average: (04-A)David Rosén | 7.02 Average | 30(1) Games

Top Prospect: (05-A)Simon Wallin | 3 Goals | 9 Assists | 30(1) Games | 6.85 Average

Best Intake Prospect: (08-A)Adam Lindahl

I feel you!! I've found the same in Wales, decent first season then a massive struggle in the second. Said it yesterday but hopefully it's a case of one step backwards and two steps forward

"It's season 16, really? We're still here?" Earl of Grey

Season 16 - 38/39

The Under 18s won the title again, of course. The senior team failed to reach Play Offs again, of course. It's a barrier we can't climb yet.

Rhys Platt the legend will leave Ricay Town for a ne challenge and he did so giving us again 23 goals.

"Hooray, hooray, hooray" Rhys Platt you're a true legend,  you will always have a place at our fire and in our hearts. Thank you for 16 years of service. Thank you for 535 apps and 293 goals.

Regarding stats, we played again wonderful football at times and managed to come close as 3 points to the Play Off Spots and then a spell was cast over us and we failed to win anything. We produced 2 penalties per game and hit everything but the goal. We hit the goal but only the woodwork of it. In the end a successful campaign got a taste of unfulfillment of dissatisfaction.

Avrg. Possession: 3rd

Non Pen. xG/ 90: 3rd

Pass completion Ratio: 3rd

Shots on target: 6th

Final Third Passes for: 5th

We do a lot of thing right especially with the ball. But we do a lot wrong out of possession. On the other hand: tackles won ratio: 2nd. Passes attempted against: 3rd. Final third passes against: 11th we do a lot of stupid mistakes often we dominate the game but lose it in the end. This is where we have a lot of work to do.

Best players (only league): Inih Sole outstanding again with a double double 18 goals 13 assists, maybe he will be our main striker next year to replace Rhys Platt. Achref Ghouma managed to get his 7 passing (at last) and 8 goals and 13 assists. Calum McEachran is a new 19 year old and contributed 6 goals and 4 assists from the wings in his first year. He developed fine in his attributes. Parting Josh Maxwell with 4 goals and 8 assists. Being more picky with contracts means that some players won't get the money they wish, he is one of them. our lazy jumper from the back contributed 8 goals. We have a lot of positives this year and will take the next step in the next year and maybe will win a promotion before season 20 (?)

Tecos Fútbol Club

Season 3, 25/26, Mexican Tier 2

A struggle. We could not find any kind of form in the opening stage. More of the same in the closing stage. Then I decided to remove all PI's (and started to sub at halftime) and we went undefeated (4-2-0) in our last 6 to reach 10th. We lost 0-0 on penalties (6-5) in the playoffs. I still am primarily relying on the veterans. I do have a few youngsters that are progressing but many aren't. I need them to progress. I've been hanging around the relegation zone and if I have a poor next season, I might be in trouble.

My center defense is really weak. Pineda has developed well so he is a solid center back, but I was starting a 2.5 gray star and a 1 star there for large chunks of the year.

My 4.5 star GK Estrada gave me the "Considering my options" thing so he's gone in a year. I have a couple young promising GK's but I don't think either is progressing that much. But I'm going to have to trely on one of them soon. As you can see below, my Board sold my star center back Martin Gimenez, and I had the option of loaning him back. I clicked Agree before I thought about it. Once I realized that I couldn't play him, I just removed him from the roster and a month later terminated the loan.

Season 2026/27 - Port Talbot

I know I do some moaning on here but bloody hell, the scheduling. At one point in the season, including cup games, we had 7 away games straight, a home game v TNS then 2 more away games, I was on me knees

To start the season off, we had our leftback injured (the broke leg guy), my right back injured (6 weeks) and my striker (6 weeks). Josh Abraham (the striker) then came back and stunk the place out after scoring 24 the season before, Charlie Richards (the broke leg guy) was absolutely ruined, he's been a complete liability since coming back but he's pretty much the only left back we have. Any kid I throw in just does terrible

We stayed up in the end but during that 7 game away day fun, we were very close to relegation fight

@Johnny Ace Great Job keeping your guys out of a relegation battle consider the long sidelines of your players. That striker looks awesome

here at Ricay the season began really tough. Don‘t know why but we have penalties against us in every single game. We dominated every single game but got spanked almost every game and fight relegation now. It’s frustrating at times.

100K in debt here, which doesn't seem a lot but in Wales it's a fortune. We only turn over around 300K and expenses for last season were 335K. We gained 3 extra season ticket holders in preseason so it's really bleak and starting to feel like a waste of time, we're regressing if anything

On the other side of that though, it means that any money worries will be fixed quite quickly when you make it up to the top end of the table! With some of the youngsters you've just got in I think that'll be fairly soon too. TNS don't seem to be dominating as they usually do in your save either.

I love your positivity  So true, I'm hoping we get a takeover to be honest :D No, they don't, they've only won it once in the last 3 years but it makes them, Newtown, Carmarthen, Penybont and Haverfordwest all really hard to beat

League Performance: CHAMPION!

Another very similar league title. It was very clear we were going to win it when we had some stupidly large victories against top clubs to open up the season. The loss and draws mainly came from simulated rotation games when I was keeping all my starters fresh for the more important cup matches.

Cup Performance: CHAMPION!

WE FINALLY DID IT! The final was a pretty straightforward win against Brighton Hill who won it last year, but really haven't challenged us much this save. The real victory was the semi-final home victory against BDFSP. It was scraped by with a 94’ equalizer by us pushing everyone forward to take it into extra time where we found a no joke 120’ winner.

Star Players:

Ramar Vaughn has developed fantastic the past 2 years and is an actually half decent CB now with most 11-12 abilities for all the key roles. He plays the critical central position of our back 3 on cover duty, and with 11 pace he's plenty fast for this league.

Riccardo Burke: Still a star for us, the way I play my strike trio he is a shadow striker moving into space freed up by my front 2. His 16 goals and 10 assists (which does include penalties) is an excellent return for our creative player.

Jason Lashley - Our 2nd Model Citizen player has downgraded now to Professional and is slowly improving (though not as much as I hoped). He fits very well as our CB-L and had a solid second season at 17.

Spoiler

Akeem Skeete - This is a deadball specialist Inside Forward who I converted to a WB-A. His ratings are up and down, but it can't be argued that he's improving (and mentoring is leveling out his "fickle" nature) and is our most lethal free kick and corner taker.

Elsid Downey - I'm thrilled with my new Goalkeeper. He is developing very well and is giving solid performances already for our squad. I'm a big fan of high decisions in GK combined with Refleexs and Command means he is a good shot stopper. The real negative here is the poor 1v1 skill.

Summary

We will finally get a shot at the NACL next year!! Going to be hard for sure, but hopefully it will begin the progress towards professionalism. Winning the cup + league got us 100k in prize money, so not only will I need to keep doing that, but some NACL money would be very nice to continue the club's development.

Vanarama National League North

2023/24 (season 1)

Season Summary

After a few months of not playing any FM, I thought it was time to start again. I don't expect to complete this challenge again before FM24, but I missed the grind. So here we are again.

I started with Billericay. The best players initially in the club were not interested in signing a new contract and left the club just a week after I arrived. I was left with only 10 grown players in the squad and a handful of the youth players from the 2023 intake. But I had to work with what I got. So I employed a 5-3-2 tactic with two "pacey" strikers at the top, two central midfielders that run forward, and lots of passes behind the defense of the opponents.

The tactic worked very well and ended midtable. Far from relegation and promotion.

image.thumb.png.63c70004d65480613bfb28aafad28cc1.png

To be honest, none of my players had a great season. But my two strikers, Cerulli and Splatt, were important with 22 and 19 goals respectively.

image.thumb.png.74c66fd5f373b85bd90f72f38968a6b8.png

The first youth intake preview looked okay. 5 stars but bad ratings of each position.
image.png.237a9924764353967effe23f74217f40.png

The intake gave me one first-team-ready player in Mauragis and a few with top potential. However the personalities are not great.

image.png.0b9aae1b550dd7e4909a5260faa6627b.png

Mauragis is a pacey striker and he is thus well suited to play in my tactics. He is not great, but his stars shows how bad the rest of the team is. He managed to score 2 goals in 5 games.

No transfers of significance.

Finances and Upgrades
I managed to upgrade my junior coaching and youth recruitment in the fall before my intake. But the board is not willing to send my courses to get a badge.

Next season
Next season is going to be difficult. I just hope I can develop a few of my youngsters. I have about zero chance of getting a promotion.

@Johnny Ace It's just how I've always found it when managing in Wales. A half decent forward and a bit of luck can land you a league title, or the cup which is Conference League qualification isn't it?

@WhiteCat33 Looks like you're really starting to kick on and dominate now! The fans deserve it for being for patient with the club I suppose .

@fries Good luck! I've not long finished catching up with your South Shields save, fingers crossed the next Patrick Walters is waiting in one of the next intakes.

I'm the same @HanziZolomanwith the pens conceded, last season I had 14! in 34 league games, 14 pens conceded. Other thing i'm noticing (well 2 things actually) the amount of goals from direct free kicks im scoring, and the amount of goals I score that are subsequently ruled out for offside, between pens, free kicks, offside disallowed - 2 of the 3 is happening to me most games it feels like.

Tons of respect mate! Followed on YouTube a while. What do you think was the crucial main step out of Vanarama South?

The lower leagues is all about a solid tactic that creates a bucket load of chances. Vanarama South and Vanarama National are the hardest to get out of in my opinion.

Good luck !

2030 Update Part II

Well this is annoying, I have to wait A Full Year to play in the NACL...

Currently it is 2030...

image.png.ca299c72c4cd884d58d78c435a1fe573.png

Thankfully it looks like the Current tournament( which is the 2030/2031) will kick off in August.

image.png.f6ffabac719284889006b0224368ebee.png

Brittons Hil is last years Barbados Cup winner, so they are getting their chance now at the NACL. This means I have all next season to prepare for the cup and we enter it right after the end of the year during the off season. Man I wish I had V50's file activated, I liked his system better. On the flip side, we are up to 1.5* Reputation now and the Barbadian league has gained from 37th to 24th rank in North America. Hopefully that will help turn around intakes.

@Cultured Left Foot thanks for the Tipp. It feels encouraging to finally get out of the swamp.

@aldojags feels good to know I‘m not the only one. Phew. Very encouraging.

@fries hope you‘ll do better with Ricay. Your team is completely different, no familiar names though. Thanks for dropping some tactical hints.

@Johnny Ace let’s stay as positive as possible. We‘re not that bad at it :applause:

We're getting better :onmehead:

Wiener Sport-Club

2030/31

Competitions

  • Admiral Bundesliga - Another solid season, the league was fairly clearly split into two 6's even before the official split. We made it into the Championship group for a second year, finishing in 5th during the opening stage. We fared much better this season in the Championship group, only losing two games of the ten. Finished the season in 3rd and qualifying for the UEFA Europa League Playoff nest season, even if we lose that it'll be another year in the UEFA Europa Conference League league stage.
  • Austrian FA Cup - Champions!!! We needed to rely on penalties twice to make it to the final where we met RB Salzberg, who have won this in 14 of the last 16 seasons. 2-0 up just after half time and I was thinking that it might be more simple than I thought, the game had other ideas though. A red card and two Salzberg goals followed and it left the game heading to extra time and there's no way we'd have been able to win that while down to 10 men but Niklas Ambos (25 YP3) won it in the 95th minute with the last kick of the game! A second trophy for the club during my tenure and the clubs first FA Cup win since 1923.
  • UEFA Europa Conference League - Much better showing than I was expecting, managed to get to the league stage and only just missed out on the top 8 leaving us to play Maccabi Tel-Aviv for a place in the last 16, 0-0 away from home and I was geared up for more of the same in the 2nd leg, I couldn't have been more wrong, an 8-0 win saw us into the last 16 and a tie against Everton, they were a different class winning 6-1 on aggregate.

SquadStarting to look a little light in defence now, really showing that the stand out players in the last few years intakes have been more attacking.

Key Players

  • Mustafa Alper Yiş (25 YP1) - Rated as decent for the league below but you'd never know with some of the performances he put in, kept us alive more than a couple of times during the season. He might have to start taking a step back though now I've got a few keepers coming through with better potential.
  • Sören Amelsberger (28YP7) - His first season in the main squad and he didn't look out of place at all, he's developed a lot over the season and I'm hoping for more of the same next year.
  • Florian Heimann (25 YP4) - 37 goals in all competitions and 22 in the league! Another fantastic season from the main man up top ending with the 2nd league golden boot of his short career and 2nd top scorer in the Conference League.

Youth Intake (2nd Screen) - Another good intake, the number of 5* talents has fallen from previous years but I think that more to do with my teams ever increasing ability than the quality of the intake dropping.

  • Thomas Feigenwinter (31YP4) - looks like he's one of the best from this year, good potential with a decent base and a half decent personality, think we'll be seeing him in the first XI in the coming years.

Transfers - Nothing major this year, started loaning out some of the youth so they get game time in competitive leagues and can come back to challenge for the main team.

  • Peter Els (28YP8) - The stand out from this years loans, missed out on winning the 2nd division with his loan club by 1 point but came in as the leagues top scorer. Labelled the next Hans Kranlke, who after a little googling looks to be well in the conversation for best Austrian of all time as well as having a short spell at the club in the late 80's scoring 40 goals in 60 games, so no pressure there then. He'll get minutes next season.

Finances - We're back to just not looking at this screen, no upgrades or anything this season and we've lost £5m even with the extra prize money from Europe.

Other -

  • Won a couple of Manager of the Year awards (1, 2) and the club gained nearly 90k social media followers (don't actually understand the importance of this).
  • Two of our players just creeped onto the NXGN list this year, Peter Els (28YP8) and Jan Matušovič (28YP3), not sure I'll be able to keep hold of Matušovič for much longer because of a £4.8m release clause and he's not keen on renewing right now but if he does go the money will be greatly appreciated.
  • We've got an affiliate that might send us youth players, the board let me pick myself and much to my surprise they actually accepted a link with Portmore United so we might see some Jamaican players coming through in the future.

Tecos Fútbol Club

Battled relegation all season. It was between us, UdeG and Colima FC all season. I was able to beat both of them late in the season to help me stay up. But it will likely be more of the same for next season. I finished 14th in each stage but that's not a strong finish. I'm one sneeze away from being relegated. I need to get to start moving up the table to stay in this league.

So, Raya2 won the opening stage, Mineros the closing stage. But Celeya was promoted. Raya2 won the trophy to determine who was to be promoted and they can't be promoted. I assumed that would mean Mineros would be promoted, but nope. Celeya was knocked out in the semis in both stages and does not have the most points over the past 3 seasons. So I assume its just because they had the most points this season.

table27.jpg.8c50845a026907dc6438557b98fd320a.jpgsquad27.thumb.jpg.a6c2b5fc6bdc9072ed11060ad33c48ec.jpg

I do have some youth playing a good number of minutes (Morales, Ramos, Pineda etc) but I do feel like I'm relying too much on the veterans that have pretty much left me in the relegation zone season after season.

My 4.5 star GK Estrada won't sign a new contract with me so he's likely gone. I'll give it another try before he goes, but it's not looking good. I tried to play Botello who is 2 stars and the top prospect in the initial '24 class, but he hasn't really progressed a whole lot since I've had him. In truth very few players have progressed much over the seasons. There are a few of course but it seems like there might be ne player per class that progresses.

I've to come to the realization that really I should be looking at 3 things when I chose one of these teams. The first 1) is the thing I do look at and that is facilities. I always pick the team that has the best facilities. But 2) you need $ and I think looking at the fanbase or average attendance is probably important too. I average 1500 fans. Imagine if I had 15000 fans. Then 3) do you have a newgen on your roster that could be world class(or just really good for your level). I wonder if that is really the most important thing to look for. What youth are already at the club that can develop into really strong players.

transfers27.thumb.jpg.63c71c7475de3a55cc7d042e17aa5eb9.jpgyouth27.jpg.1e44f44ed0fe87203560fc3484af256d.jpg

My youth pulls have been pretty uninspired the past couple seasons. There are a couple players here so hopefully they can develop.

Rowlands absolutely ruined my squad's ratings, everyone dropped a star  Straight into the first team since I released broke leg guy after he rated a 5 in a game

We lost a few kids over the season

Hamici was the bad backup leftback, Davies was a promising 'keeper who I tried to keep but he took the money. Twum was an absolutely useless striker and Cunniff was one of the unambitious lads so didn't mind him going

Over the summer I'm going to release a load of players, give the kids go and if we go down, we go down, we deffo need a reboot and give some of the guppies some time to grow

Season 2028-29 - Port Talbot

We stayed up, somehow. We were in the relegation zone most of the season but 2 wins and a bunch of draws after the split off were enough to keep us in the Cymru Premier another season

Bala winning it this year, such a strange league

2829Preview.thumb.png.1910f745d4e8fd98730639e4df871d29.png

Preview has dropped off a bit which doesn't surprise me with having Rowlands in the squad

Erm, seems I didn't take a screenshot of the intake :idiot:We did have a decent centre back, Chris Davies with an Ambitious personality and right winger Joey Parfitt who has an Unambitious personality

transfers2829.thumb.png.fad4ea301fb6e0d1e69f5c1209742278.png

We lost Nick Barret who was a great young centre back who I was pinning my hopes on for this season, was gutting to lose him. Buchanan was just brought into the first team and he was gone and Sol Kempster was a squad OG who had fallen down the pecking order

Same again for this season, clear out some deadwood and give the kids a go and see if we float

Season Review 2031

Här gör "Henke" Larsson comeback

Table | Transfers | Finance | Facilities | Youth Intake

The media predicted us 2nd before the season so we had good hopes of bouncing back. The race showed that we were 3 teams better then the rest by some margin that would fight for the direct promotion and playoff spot. With 1 game to go it was settled that Lund would go straight up and we had the 2nd place 1 point ahead of Kristianstad. We had 1-0 against Torn until the 95th(!) minute where they equalised and we ended up 3rd which means another season down here. Unfortunately our goalkeeper that we had from the start retires, but luckily our best player from the intake is a GK. Sadly Simon Wallin leaves which weakens us at the left wing but we have okay backup that i hope will take steps.

Top Scorer: (06-A)Tobias Jonsson 32 Goals | 26(1) Games

Most Assists: (05-A)Simon Wallin | 11 Assists | 25(2) Games

Best Average: (02-A)Björn Cederqvist | 7.59 Average | 26(2) Games

Top Prospect: (09-A)Robin Rask | 1 Clean Sheet | 1 Conceded | 2(0) Games | 7.45 Average

Best Intake Prospect: (09-A)Robin Rask

FC United
Season 1 - 2024/25

1920px-FCUM_logo.svg.png

It all was much easier than I initially feared - the team started to perform well after some tactical adventures, and went on some winning streaks with a narrow 4-3-3. The league in general seemed quite homogenous to me. Our greatest weakness was the slow and aging central defense - generally our side is not among the fastest.

But overall, with some luck, we managed to reach the 5th place in the league and therefor the playoffs. There we lost in the first round against Hereford - a team against which we lost all our games before - Hereford even later got promoted. Not great, but I was delighted with the season anyway.

The FA Trophy was a success as well, we reached the semifinal, where the opponent Spennymoor was clearly two classes better than our team.

Villa Teresa FC

Uruguay

Season 1 - Division 2

Season Summary

So Uruguay is a bit bonkers. First of all you start with a little mini competition. Two groups of six, winners play each other in the final. We did brilliantly, topping our group and then cantering to victory in the final. I didn't realise, but it meant we'd automatically qualified for the promotion playoffs as winners even before a league game had kicked off!

23competenciatable.JPG.3b2082e8669821f876c17c19835739a0.JPG

23competenciafinal.JPG.da7e00def9526f7a13f173f661d69571.JPG

In the league proper we did ok, going on some nice runs of victories which meant we were always there or thereabout. Even better, at the end of the season they combine the two competitions for a combined league table! Through to the play offs, we made the final where we lost to a 116th minute goal in extra-time. So no promotion but a brilliant first season!

23playofffinal.JPG.a9f1d586702c27e6a7decdc0ab2b2561.JPG

Youth

Nice thing about Uruguay is the youth intake happens before the season kicks off, so any good players can go straight into the squad from the very start. This year we got a very  nice preview. Excellent intake plus double A is very nice! but what kind of intake does it get us?

23youthpreview.thumb.JPG.b56daaf0500e9cdb9edc00d20a9cff09.JPG

Pretty, pretty good really! An elite talent is always a nice thing to have. We'll see what it means in the context of our current squad in the next couple of seasons or so

23youthintake.thumb.JPG.bedaa02fcf2c0a99bd5eb4fe80591d01.JPG

Finances and Upgrades

Biggest problem in South America is money. There's just no money in the domestic leagues so you need to be selling your youths in order to get the cash to get the upgrades. But when they're fairly limited that's not the easiest thing to do. I have got a good squad, but only in the context of the Uruguayan Second Division, so.....

23finances.thumb.JPG.e299298b8f847b2f8105fc3ea908a581.JPG

Career

Really enjoyed my first season! Hopefully second season is as successful.

League Performance: CHAMPION!

We did it one better this year going undefeated, which shows more the strength of our depth players as we had some tough rotation games before cup matches.

Cup Performance: CHAMPION!

Much easier double this year. It was a shock the Haynesville game had to go to extra time as they are a 2nd division club, but we had 3 goals ruled out for offsides so it happens.

Reserve & U18s:

Reserves won their league by a wide margin, but U18s came up second.

North American Champions League: Caribbean Group Stage

We had a very good draw getting the Puerto Rico, Trinidad & Tobago and Martinique sides in the group who I consider the other smaller teams in the group stage.

image.thumb.png.c360305ec05700075f70add127d7fbb8.png

The scheduling is pretty **** as its during our summer break and we only play each team once. Upside is Gate Reciepts are shared & my team never goes on vacation, so I get to keep training them and I have to schedule 3 more months of friendlies. Thankfully Martinique clubs are in season so I can set up at least somewhat competent opponents to net a +1k per game.

image.png.b54c0bcc469a78eb1a0bb4f480c52335.png

Defense Force (Trinidad & Tobago)

They dominated the ball during the game, and our strikers had an off game but we still found equalizers for their first two goals. Their final goal was too much too late and we couldn't respond.

Cavalier (Jamaica)

We used the next two months to integrate our new intake players into the first team to prepare for the hardest match of the group. Unfortunately, we made a defensive error on a FK play letting the kicker run in unmarked for the second ball and they converted it. We couldn't get any possession away in Jamaica and it ends 1-0 with hardly any highlights.

Club Franciscan (Martinique)

We played well at home but our strikers just couldn't finish today. 1.5 xG and no goals for us and they barely even threatened us with just 1 shot on target all game.

image.png.eeceb0807504ab8d37a111038ebd48a4.png

Baymon FC (Puerto Rico)

Playing for pride and we played really well except again lack of finishing cost us in a 1-1 draw. Shows that while my strikers are fantastic against scrub Barbadian teams they really struggle against competent defenses.

Squad:

No real changes to the squad this season as last year's intake was poor and I was able to hold on to all of my players over the summer. Vaughn and Burke are becoming troublesome as they don't want to sign future contracts, so I'm prepared to lose them anytime to a poaching from a bigger league. Thankfully this new intake gives me youth prospects in their exact positions.

Transfers:

Let a few reserve players go mostly backup goalkeepers. So far I've been able to hold onto my talent, but its getting difficult with the promises required.

Club Improvements:

Upgraded JR Coaching, but more importantly we upgraded our Youth Facilities! This is putting basically 2 years of prize money into the upgrade which will use up almost all we've saved up. First Steps!

Youth Intake:

Back with a great intake ability-wise even if personalities are underwhelming.

Top Players:

Kemar Layne: Coaches rate him the highest and he could be a totally fine CB. Wish he had better top-mental skills as well as mediahandling.

Ramuel Crowley: I wish he was taller then he would be my favorite player of the intake. If he grows 2 inches he will be fine at CB otherwise I'll have to consider him as a DM-D

Rondelle Harte: This will be my starting WB-L next season. He's not great, but much better than the current worst player in the starting XI. Hopefully his speed will save him.

Trevor Harding: Similar kind of player as our current CAM being either-footed and skilled just has an unfortunate personality. Thankfully we have mentors.

Excel Tables:

The upgrades made a difference as we have reversed the slow down the past 2 seasons (where I didn't do any youth upgrades) and have produced our statistically strongest intake to-date. This is also still on Level 1 Youth Facilities, so hopefully we will see a step-change with our first upgrade this summer.

Barbados National Team:

Still struggling down in the 160's with losses in friendlies this year.

Road View Internationals:

In the Summer window we had 22 players called up for all 4 Barbados teams, so we are very much becoming the top developer of national talent (even with Poor Facilities & Part-Time Status!)

image.png.583a8543f836f74578dd45da94f32fa6.png

Barbados Main:

Lots of players are getting 'test' CAPs by the national team this year as its a full year of friendlies, we are up to 15 Players!

image.png.acb03eec1a09a3f629b093ffaad2cf23.png

Barbados Youth:

Still a few that are only having Youth Appearances

Barbadian’s Around the World:

English Academy Players:

Not English Academy, but we have 2 young players in the Vanarama Leagues who both have Barbados youth international experience. Totally unloaded leagues, but hopefully they develop and appear in the national team lists.

MLS Academy Players:

Montreal's Romario Reid-Stephens has left for San Jose College and has changed primary to Barbados! Now he just needs to recover from his injury and get back on the pitch.

image.png.2881c7ce54852b08fcbb867b1f5c66d6.png

Jamaican Academy Players:

2 New Jamaican Barbadians generated this year both at fully professional Premier League Clubs.

Other Nations:

No new players, but interestingly Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has left Dortmund for Rennes on a free. Still a very disappointing career for him.

Aaaaand I'm sacked.

End of season 4 with SC Toulon in 3rd tier of France, relegated, after a horror show season. So disappointed, whilst I was struggling, I was enjoying the save, and felt the squad, whilst rubbish, was still good enough to avoid relegation.

Had a decent youth intake with probably the best prospect of the save so far in this young Chinese striker, but I never got to see him kick a ball!

Conceded so many goals, so many games I was in front and threw it away, could have been avoided but we were just so easy to score on, and I couldn't find a shape that stopped the goals flying in. These games, 1 & 2, were fairly typical of my season!

My final managerial stats for the save - not terrible, had a reasonably steady first 3 seasons but this last season was so difficult!

With the being able to carry my save over onto FM 25, I don't see the need to wait for the new game, so I may start another save.

Season 2029/2030  - Port Talbot

Well it happened, we got relegated, oh what a shame  But the biggest surprise is, we won the Welsh Cup!! I didn't understand, we were useless in the league and turned it on for the cup games

Which means we get a crack at the Europa Conference League next season

The preview was on the downturn again

A couple of useful players and decent personalities

Here's the final day squad so you can see who I'm dealing with, we've still got Rowlands. He's on an NC and won;t sign a PT contract so it's only a matter of time :(

Transfers, we lost a young striker who weren't far off coming in

We'll see how we get on next season then, we've a very young team so I wouldn't mind spending some time in the Cymru South to help them develop and gain some experience. I'm guessing we'll lose some of the Ambitious ones
