Popular Post XaW
XaW - Amsterdamsche FC- Season 2031/32 - Eredivisie Squad | Transfers | Finances Now we are getting somewhere! Qualified for Europe from a league place directly. But also, Ajax.... bloody Ajax, man... I'm looking forward to moving into the new stadium this summer, as it should continue to increase the profits and make it easier to get facility improvements accepted. KNVB Beker: We beat Utrecht, Heracles, Twente, and ADO Den Haag to reach the final, there we faced the titan Ajax (I know he is a hero not a titan, mythology geeks! ). They crushed us and swiped the trophy. Europa Conference League: We beat Gap Connah's Quay of Wales, Glentoran of Northern Ireland, and Braga of Portugal to reach the group stage. There we drew APOEL of Cyprus, Maribor of Slovenia, and AIK of Sweden. We won all matches and finished top of the group. Then we beat KRC Genk of Belgium before we lost to Real Betis of Spain in the quarter final. A good run for our first ever outing there. I haven't done this in a while, so here is a presentation of the first team: GK: Guillermo Meier 28e - I only have one problem with him, his contract runs out in a year and he refuses to talk about a new one, so I might have to sell him this summer, but I don't think Lorenzo Grootoonk 32e is ready to take over yet. RB: Bob Johnstone 29d - Mr Reliable on the right back, almost never has a bad game. DC: Kay Gjorgjievski 27f - Such an amazing player! And also only a year left on his deal, another I might have to sell this summer. If he leaves young Mitch Swinkels 31c are the next in line. DC: Gerrie Quaedvlieg 28d - Plays 2nd fiddle in the defense, but a very good defender. LB: Herman Oscarsson 29c - Just recently became first choice ahead of Geruluit van den Brink 27e, though they are similar in ability. DM: Bram van Dijk 26b - One of the most experience players in the side, and works excellently as a deeper playmaker type. MC: Mădălin Sava 30b - The attacking of the midfielders, and really is turning into an excellent player. MC: Romain van der Dussen 32a - A recent addition to the side, but if you are good enough, you are old enough! AMR: Erwin de Boer 29j - He really wasn't someone either the coaches or myself rated when he got in, but his development has been great. AML: Thijmen Hoekstra 31b - I really like how he plays. Ideally he would be a bit quicker, but he makes it work. SC: Mohamed El Amrani 28c - My best striker by far, but he really does not want to unlearn the "Plays with back to goal" trait I've been trying to get off him for a few seasons now as I still want him to threaten more along the last line. Youth intake: Trophy cabinet N/A
Popular Post JAwtunes
F.C. Lusitanos Andorra - Season 18 (39/40) Review We won our sixth consecutive league title but lost in the cup semi-final to Inter Escaldes. We managed to reach the group stage of the Champions League again so are financially very secure and we managed to get a training facilities upgrade. The biggest loss of the season was the sale of our star striker, and the only Legend at the club (aside from me), despite only playing one full season. He was too good for us and too ambitious to convince to stay. Popular Post XaW
Alright I think I've gotten the maximum value out of this. Both players will leave at the end of the season (when their contracts expire) for loads of cash! And I avoided selling them to the absolute top tier clubs in order for them to bring in more money on a future transfer, at least I hope so.
BustaRaymes
*FM20* Littlehampton Town 2044-2045 Vanarama National League We've been sliding down for a few seasons now and the board is starting to notice. Qualitywise we should be a little bit higher. I'm not too worried yet but we should improve soon as we're in this league for way too long. Squad Our league position has convinced me that we need a bit of a change. Multiple players want to leave and I'm going to let most of them go. As usual, Mbiyavanga-Domo was our best player with 36 goals. Diakiese wants to leave following his breakthrough season, Shaw on the other hand is developing well and will have a starting position next season. Diakiese is our first full international for a decent nation (well, at least not Grenada or Guyana) as well, capping for DR Congo. The players leaving are Rose (376 apps): Hajji (255 apps): and Davey (428 apps): Transfers Star player McGinty wanted to leave, so we chose the 50% sell-on clause and hope he'll grow beyond Notts County. Salenius was a serious mistake on my part. I forgot giving him a pro contract and when Stoke showed interest, he didn't want to sign with us anymore. A small fee and 40% is all I could get out of it. Youth intake Just the one, but a good one in Wood. Time for a new HOYD.

Popular Post Daddy
Midseason Update: We've at least managed to stop bleeding players for now. However, the loss of talent is definitely noticeable. Still in first, but a lot of more draws than last year and the Goal Difference is way down. We'll finish in top group for the league split, but unless some of the new talent that had to step in as starters take off, it'll be a real challenge to win the league again. Champions League Group Play: We didn't embarrass ourselves, but not finishing third is a step backwards. I'd be less frustrated if the players that left were being used to their full potential. If I had them we could have challenged for second place here. Chen (y34D) my starting AMC went to PSG at the previous Jan deadline. 18 games 5 goals. For an 18 year old going to PSG, can't complain there. That's using him well. Levi (Y33B) starting Fullback for me, I think he had a release clause triggered preseason year before by Dortmund. 13 apps previous season and none in the current. Bornstein (Y30D) was my starting Winger and would fill in as striker. Burnley got him this preseason and credit to them he's played all of their games as what appears to be a Deep Lying Forward. Edri (Y35C) Starting Centerback for me. Went in preseason to Borussia M'gladbach only three appearances. Zrihan (Y33C) - He was first choice backup for both fullback and winger spots. Went to Nimes this offseason and has mostly played for their second team. Demski (Y31A) - The one that hurts the most. Record setting striker. Literally a goal a game player, 161 in 161 apps. He went to Atalanta this season and they have at least played him in 11 matches, but as some form of center midfielder. He's not a midfielder, the only position not listed as "makeshift" or "Unconvincing" is striker. They're doing him dirty and he's scored them no goals. Enough whining, onto the Youth Intake Preview: Looks better than the previous season intake preview. In the year 2037 and with how good the roster has been, even with all the whinging about losing players, it's still a very deep system and they can't be golden generations forever.
Popular Post toshimitzou1
Hi guys and gals. Going to give some real time updates. Cruising in the league again (third season): But, some big stuff happening in the Champions League Qualifying. As you can see, by July we are mid-way through our season and as last year's champions we enter the Champions League immediately after the preliminaries in what is called the ' Champions Path First Qualifying Round' (see where mouse is pointing on screenshot, third from left. This is all new to me). In effect, we are potentially 4 rounds (eight home and away fixtures) away from the CL group stages. Now, despite multiple requests to turn professional, the board have remained steadfast in their assurance that we can maintain success semi-pro and as such, we are entering the qualifiers as a part-time outfit. The draw churned out PAOK Salonika of Greece- I was mildly optimistic as I looked at their formation and they have been churning out a 4231 all season, a shape against which we were built to resist and counter. So, I rested all my First XI in the fixture prior and went away to Greece with a fully fit XI. The lads produced a blinder: The return leg is just after the next league fixture. Will rotate a full XI for the league fixture (can easily absorb a loss) and invite them to Iceland where I hope to freeze their mediterranean butts. Will update in approx 10 mins. Quick Update: Cheers guys, real useful! This is what you get for a bunch of part-timers. Would you Adam and Eve it? What a two legged display: Due to the stellar performance here are the player stats: The PoM is 17 years old and is the marauding Right Wing Back I have been describing in my earlier posts who stretches the play for all others to exploit.. Excellent ball retention throughout the team and key chances falling to my three main threats: Fore ST - Poacher, Borg AML - WingerSupport and Eiriksson CM - Attack. This win is pretty much textbook for how we are executing in the domestic division. To the second qualifying round and we have drawn Swiss giants Basel! Surely this will be a step too far?.... Either way, we pick up 88k for the victory however, if we can get past Basel, the loser of the qualifying play-off in the round after gets a guaranteed 4.27m!!!!! Mega money. One can only hope. Updated IRL 22.45 BST: Wow awesome. Bloody awesome. Basel lined up in another 4231 and we did the business away. Taking 0-0 back to Iceland! Updated IRL 23:09 BST. Wow. This is getting silly now. At home, the same player, Eiriksson scores a crucial goal to take us through!!!! And just look at the level of player that is pulling out these performances!!!!!: The kid can't train for toffee but at least he enjoys playing!!!!! We've drawn Ludogrets next. One more victory over two legs for mega bucks!!! Arrggh, sorry if I'm over posting - I'm just almost speechless at this current run in Europe!!! Updated 23.41 IRL BST: This is becoming quite surreal, just the away leg to come then potential jackpot: Updated 00.10 IRL BST: Flabbergasted. Actually made it to the CL Playoff round with RWB scoring 120th minute winner! 4m coming our way no matter what!!!!! 4 million is serious monies for our club! maybe we will finally be permitted to turn professional. Updated 11.47 IRL BST: Sh*t the bed. Drew the weakest team possible in the final play-off and wow: Look at the money!!!: And the biggest win: the board finally approved professional status!!!!! We will be the only professional team in Iceland and only three seasons in! What a run. I've got to say I am thrilled with the tactic I have implemented. It seems to be suited to both possession based and counter attacking football depending how the opposition approach the fixture.. The two DM's are a great pivot for maintaining possession under pressure and I have actually got two youth prospects coming through that could possibly elevate our performances with 'actual' playmaking ability from deep. Enough said here so far. Couldn't give a monkeys how we do in the group stage. I will update hereafter in the standard manner with an end-of-season summary. 12.65 million!!!!! Daddy
PSA: selling a good player at the top of the social hierarchy because you're in a bad mood from work and they're bitching about selling players you didn't want to sell only causes more whiney players. Popular Post dkouv
Sant Andreu – Season 17 (2038/39) Europe A very easy CL group saw us finish first again, but then we drew PSG in the last 16. I was fearing the worst, but we absolutely dismantled them over the two legs, 3-1 away and 4-1 at home. Another tough draw next in last year's runners up Man City. Last time we played them they beat us 5-0 in the Club World Cup. We lost the away leg 2-0, so I thought we were out. But then came a brilliant home performance, we went 3-0 up after 60 minutes and eventually won 4-1 in extra time. Was good to see us create so many chances, that’s something we’ve really struggled to do against the big teams in the CL. Onto the semis, and it didn´t get any easier with Man Utd, the team who knocked us out last year. But our team really turned up for this one, winning 2-0 at Old Trafford and dominating the home leg despite only winning 1-0. Onto the final, first time in the save. And who awaited us? Real Madrid. Have to say, as a Liverpool fan I was properly nervous and excited for this one, not sure I could handle another CL final loss to them, even in FM! And luckily I didn’t have to )) They had a man sent off in the 9th minute and we absolutely destroyed them, 2-0 but it could have been 5 or 6. So, our first proper run in the CL in 4 years, and we went on and won the thing! Challenge complete! I must say, beating City, ManU, and then Real in the final made this my most satisfying FM save for a long while. La Liga 103 points and 1st place again, unstoppable. Players: So, what was our CL winning team? Goalkeeper: Miroslav Nikolic 11b - he really came on this season, we finally have a proper class keeper Fullbacks: Josema 10d and Marc Rosanas 09a - probably our strongest position in terms of depth and quality, these two can both defend and attack very well. Center backs: Guille Arribas 11a finally started playing as his stats would suggest this season, and Brian Hidalgo 12i is the lowest rated player in the team but his height is invaluable. Center midfield: We have Aleix Garcia 06a as the defensive minded midfielder, great mentals and determination, and hardly misses a game. Further up we have Roger Nieto 12c the creator, and Nicoas Paz 09c the attacker. Wingers: Luis Miguel Pastoriza 12a has developed amazingly, and Jaume Soler 08f keeps on playing well. Striker: Vicente Esparza 11c, his finishing went up from 8 to 10 and I think this made a huge difference in those CL knockout games. Stars of the season: Nicolas Paz was our best player with 18 goals and 12 assists from midfield, but probably the reason we won the CL was that we got a proper striker and keeper in Esparza and Nikolic. Player of the save: Aaron Hontoria 01a (history), our first proper defender, key player, mentor, and still a useful squad option in this final season. 492 club appearances in 17 seasons, what a legend! Have to also give a shout out to Muhammed Badjie 03b (history), club captain for the last 10 years and still a first choice centre back this year. 125 caps and 3 times AFCON winner with Gambia, too. Transfers: just letting some squad players go. Facilities: the board said I failed their objective to “develop the best youth system in the country”, presumably because they are still refusing to upgrade youth facilities )) But honestly, who cares! Popular Post libbyshuss
Argentina Premier League 2039 (season 18) Season Summary League - yeah, sorry about this, especially after @dkouvjust completed the challenge (congrats btw!!!), but it's another boring, groundhog season for us. Started well, faded mid-season when injuries/transfers/international competitions kick in, recover to qualify for the Copa Libertadores. Copa Libertadores - again, same as the last few seasons. We get through the group stage easily, the second round comes during our mid-season slump where we have very few fit players, and we go out to a hlaf decent side. This season Atletico Mineiro beat us 5-2 after we drew 0-0 in the first leg at our place. Dammit. This challenge is gonna take a while..... Players So, it's eay to pinpoint where it all went wrong! First half of the season we were doing well with our best player Franciso Pacheco 32B scoring 18 goals in 21 games. And then Brenford triggered his £6.75m release fee and off he went. We didn't win for 7 games after that! Alexis Merlo 33A - so I sold afew first teamers over the summer, because money, and needed some youths to step up. I had a player ear-marked for the DLP position but he spent nearly the whole season injured from one thing or another, which for a 4 star potential at 21 is not ideal, so Merlo 33A filled in. Normaly an AMC he was a revelation playing deeper. He scored a lot more in DLP as well, with 11 goals! if he keeps this up, we got a real player on our hands Valentino Maggiolo 33B - So I've saved the most exciting news to last. Our first international player!!!!! I do need to make sure I keep hold of him though, I got no prospects in the reserves! Youth A better intake this year but again too many striker and not enough defenders. A golden generation but with only one elite talent is interesting Finances and Upgrades One of the reasons I'm still plugging away is it is taking a long time to max out the facilities. It's definitely easier once they're done! But up until this season I've struggled for money, but this season it changed First, Pacheco 32B went for 6.75m Sadly no sell on but that's the problem with release clauses. But Pineda 32A was sold with 30% sell on and it came in! So all of a sudden we had a buttload of money, which saldy i couldn't spend fast enough. End of season we got a 3.75m tax bill! But then the idiot board announced a stadium upgrade that would cost 5m, and took out a loan to pay for it. We had 8m sat in the bank! And then got taxed 3.7m the week after!!!! Goddammit, you idiot board! Spend the cash!!!! So now, with debt payments and higher youth costs, our projection looks scary. Within 3 years will be 22m in debt! woohoo! Career I'm gonna stick it out, sorry!

BustaRaymes
13 hours ago, dkouv said: Sant Andreu – Season 17 (2038/39) Europe A very easy CL group saw us finish first again, but then we drew PSG in the last 16. BustaRaymes
*FM20* Littlehampton Town 2045-2046 Vanarama National League Another very mediocre season. We were predicted 8th so the board is full on doubting my performances. I feel like I have been under pressure all season, getting the 'win next game or else' at least 6 times. They did however extend my contract. Something has to change. As our quality lies in midfield and up front, I've focused on that for most of the time. Playing attacking fullbacks without any attacking qualities is not helping. I'm going to switch to a more defensive strategy and rely on the quality up front to score a few goals while not conceding too many. Mostly, we'll change our creative 10 in favor of a static 6 and start playing football on the midline instead of on the 2nd third. Squad Molloy was the standout striker for a change. The man is pushing 30 but we have decent players coming through for his position. Newcomer Clewlow had a decent debut season and I'm curious to see how far he can go. Transfers It was time to let a few players go. Rose and Hajji were in the squad for too long and have moved on to get more playing time. Diakiese and Vos were talented, but I couldn't hold on to them so they have left for bigger clubs - Harrogate is in the Championship these days. Youth intake Another bad intake. Schmidt's CA is so low that it'll take a few loans to get him on a good level for us.

dkouv
@toshimitzou1 @Daddy@glennuk@libbyshuss@Winski@XaW@JAwtunes@BustaRaymes @JLAB Thanks! I'll keep following your saves on here for sure )) It does feel great to have completed - I was starting to doubt it as the team wasn't improving much, and I kept on losing those crucial CL knockout games. But then we managed to beat our CL nemeses Man Utd and Man City one after the other, and get one over our domestic rivals Real Madrid in the final (which was weirdly one-sided, even given the sending off). So it was a bit of a fairytale ending in the end ))) Now of course I'm itching to get into another challenge, but maybe I'll try buying some players for Sant Andreu or doing a journeyman save for a change. @glennuk You're right, I was actually complaining in the beginning of the save about personalities not improving, but they do look pretty good in the end. I don't think that much of it is down to mentoring, I only had one mentoring group and haven't seen that many mentoring notifications. I think it's partly because professional players develop so much better, so if you wait enough seasons you have many of them in your squad. And then I think there's some kind of threshold effect, once you get enough professional players your squad personality improves and everyone else starts becoming more professional. E.g. even my legends Hontoria and Badije, the two 30-year old centre backs changed their personalities from fairly determined and balanced to resolute and fairly pro, just in the last two years of the save. So I think in this FM you just have to be patient and reach some kind of critical mass of professional players in the squad. I also did a purge of players with poor personalities the season before last and think it helped. Other than that, professional coaches, giving out fines, and not signing too many players from the youth intake with bad personalities help, but I'm not sure how much (apart from the fines, I think in the season I got relegated my players' determination went through the roof!)

WhiteCat33
This is a slight spoiler for my season, but @V50 you might want to check the NACL Stadium ground-size rules. For the group stage the minimum is some amount over 3,500 so we are moved to Anos Vale, the St Vincent national stadium that seats 18,000. However, once we advanced to the Quarter Final the minimum no longer applied and we played our match at Victoria Park our 3,500 home ground instead of Anos Vale. aldojags
Season Review 2028/29 Just read my past 5 reviews for the low down - more of the same, awful, can't work out a system, and a team full of duds! Can't create, can't score, bla bla bla! League Table | Fixtures 1 & 2 I'm gna have to find a system and stick to it. Developing some decent looking wingers and central mids, so gna commit to somethin that has has enough of these! Team Only going to show you some of the best home grown players. Best player after Max Leroy left for Anderlecht was Eugene Diereckx, mainly played as a CM on attack. By far my best player. 2 years left on his deal, not entertaining a new contract, why would you if you were him! So probably only got 1 more season left out of him! Brent Lippens developed well, down as a right winger but i got a good few games out him as pressing forward on defend. He's attracting interest from some premier league teams in Belgium. Nicholas De Matteo is very hot and cold. Think his personality has a lot to do with that. Sometimes, cutting in off the right wing he's a match winner. But he often disappears and is anxious during matches! Mattis De Paepe starting to fulfil his early promise, some of the Pro League A teams sniffing about him at times too I hope I can keep him. Youth Intake Preview | Intake | Signed players Couple of players I'll show you from this who made their debuts towards end of season - Tomas Pena as a 3 star CA player is already 1st team calibre, worryingly wont discuss a contract aside from the 2 year youth deal he's on, so that's a bit of a worry! And this centre half, model citizen personality, looks ok, gna try feature him as CB is a bust for me, just constant missed headers balls over the top and conceding goals. Transfers Sold Max Leroy to Anderlecht, and I cashed in the 50% sell on clause I had on him for about £2,5million, which I think I'll regret as his current value is 11-19m, but I was in so much debt I just took the money. Finances in best shape since I've been in charge but still loosing money despite a miniscule wage budget Club Vision is to survive, that's all it ever is and probably ever will be! We're getting worse, least points, and most goals conceded in my time at club. Surely next season should be better....
Popular Post glennuk
Worthing FC - Season 13 - Sky Bet League Two - Youth Intake & Mini Update The League So Far - 1st Our performances this year have been outstanding. We got to the top of the league and didn't really let up, a dip here and there but in general we have been fantastic. Which shows in the fact that we are at 16 games unbeaten. The Port Vale away game shows that we have also got our fair share of luck this season. What is impressive too is now that Jean-Claude Kitoko (YP06A) is a DR Congo national team player, he missed pretty much all of January and most of February (9 of the 16 games), and we still kept up the streak. Youth Intake After having my worst preview yet, I wasn't expecting much. However the intake was not as bad as I expected. Still mostly players from the UK, but some decent prospects. A mixture of personalities here, probably more bad than good, but I am glad that some of the top prospects have decent personalities. Top 3 - Youth Intake 13 Graham Loft (YP13A) - Mercenary may not be great for his longevity at Worthing, but I am in need of a good AML. I play with an Inverted Winger and feel that although some of the technical attributes aren't great, the pace and dribbling combo makes Graham a prospect that could well be an important player in the next year or two. I am hopeful that I can train the Mercenary to something a bit more productive, improve the technicals and mentals and bring him into the first team. Kirk Welch (YP13B) - A resilient CM is an exciting prospect. I couldn't ask for a better personality and his physicals look great for 15 year old. I know he has a lot of work to do, but I am VERY excited that he could become a top Box To Box Midfielder. CM has been a problem area for a number of years, but with the last few intakes I feel like it is now an area of real squad depth. Allen Baker-Moran (YP13C) - A player who fills an area of need. We had to train Tom Roberts (YP01F) my second choice RB as a LB after we got rid of Lea Sills (YP08D). Another good personality and pretty good attributes across all three main areas. I like a LB who can attack, so the fact that he starts as a Wing Back is great. He may well come into the first team straight away. It will be a tough step up (if we make it to League One), but at 16 Moran looks to be a gem.

aldojags
I have had 2 players, 1 from each of my last 2 intakes, showing "model citizen" personality. Within weeks, both had changed to light hearted. How depressing...how are you to maintain these personality traits if within weeks they stop being a model citizen and start being all light hearted! Neo_Geo
VV Katwijk - Season 4 (2027/28) End of Season Review Competitions In my last post I said I was going to sacrifice league position in favour of playing the youth players and I started off doing this until about 11 games in where we sat in 13th place. I then opted for fewer of the youth players starting and rotating a little more and found a rhythm which despite having 10 losses in 38 games I ended up second and gaining promotion to the Eredivise with one game to spare! The Dutch Cup was back to normality with a 3rd round 0-2 home loss to AZ. Youth Intake The preview once more was expected to be a golden generation This time around there were 5 elite talents! Top of the class was Martin Bijl who looks like he could be of use to me straight away (may have to retrain Plezier as an SC or change formation to factor in two AMCs) Squad Thoughts Plezier continues to steadily improve however this year saw Nelson Schutte (Y02EliteA) really step it up in central defence playing 34 games out of a possible 41 and it showed in terms of his progress and CA rating (now 2.5 stars). My young fullbacks from Y03 had 23 and 19 games and again this has helped them both improve their CA to 1.5 stars. Tonny van den Berg (Y01EliteA) was a false dawn it appears and has regressed to showing 2.5 PA and has now left the club following the end of his contract. Colin Rae, who was top of the class in Y03, played 18 times with 2 goals and 2 assists which is pretty good given he is still 16. Season 5 Aim Don't get relegated if at all possible though I am expecting I will be cannon fodder next season. Finances took a hit because I forced the boards hand at the youth facilities upgrade (we were at about £1.7m at the time), and the 900k+ bonus payout took its toll! JLAB
So I've decided that I'm going to start a new save in either Romania, Sweden, Greece or Serbia to make it a Build A Nation challenge along with a Youth Academy Challenge. I'm just taking my time with preparing each save, even if I have already set up a save in all four nations with four different clubs lined up as potential options. So far, Serbia is looking like the ideal option, but is there anything I should be concerned about in regards to Romania, Serbia, Greece or Sweden for squad building? Think i managed season and a half Botermans had a goal drought at the start of the season (think it continued from the season before) and I feared that I had my last 20+ season from him but he managed to get going again. I did change my attacking wingbacks to supporting full backs as I wanted to shore up the defence a bit and it might have contributed to the lower goal return. Can’t wait to be beaten 3+ nil every week next season

Facilities: the board said I failed their objective to “develop the best youth system in the country”, presumably because they are still refusing to upgrade youth facilities )) But honestly, who cares! libbyshuss
Argentina Premier League 2040 (Season 19) Season Summary Well, this was nice! League - River beat us game 3 but after that we were great and won 6 in a row. It took us top and we managed to stay there until the midway point. With 14 games left to play the table looked like this, with River lurking ominously behind us Whenever we slipped up, River seemed to slip up as well, until with 3 games to go we were 3 points ahead. But the next game was away at River. If they won, thy'd be level on pints with 2 games to play. But.... we only went and won 2-1! so although we lost the final game of the season, it didn't matter. We had already won the title!!! Our secret? well. Copa Libertadores - we had to go into the qualifying rounds. Not a problem, there's usually not a lot of quality in there. I should be able to play the reserve team and still comfortably qualify. THe only possible banana skins are the Brazilian teams, and this time Corinthians were in there. And they are good. And obviously, we drew them. Won the first 1-0 but lost the second leg and went out So it meant no distractions for the rest of the campaign, meaning we were able to keep fitness high Players Not only that, but we got lucky with injuries, with very few all season! This meant we couold keep a nice consistent side all season, always at full fitness and morale as well. It really makes a huge difference! Romain Gimenez 34B was the breakout star this season. His fifth season in the first team but up until now he's been only ok. But he really outdid himself this year and seemed to improve week upon week. He's now easily our best player Matias Portillo 26C really wants to play centre back but he's also our best left back as well. He'll definitely end up there eventually, he's looking amazing Wonderkids So, weirdly, I won the league with precisely zero wonderkids! I've enever gone this far in this challenge without having one, let alone winning the league as well. Youth A very nice preview and intake but oh my god, they're all striker and attacking midfielders again! I forgot to take a screenshot but there were 5 elite talents! and 3 of them were AMC!!! goddamit..... I also got this lad, which was kinda weird. Was not expecting an Irish fella in my intake! Finances and Upgrades My training and youth facility upgrades came through! So we now got lots of lovely facilities! But not a lot of money..... The board also promised this, which is disconcertingly vague Career Just the Copa Libertadores to go now! and so far we've been nowhere near!
dkouv
@aldojags Thanks! The personality change thing seems annoying... I think in this FM squad personality seems very important, at least from my experience, although I didn't have any changes as drastic as that. I'd say it may be worth raising in the bug forum or on feedback thread, maybe SI changed something under the hood and overcooked it a bit. @darren1983 Thanks! Looking at the HoF, quite a few completions over the last few FMs, nice to see! @JLAB I tried this in Sweden twice and it was lots of fun, the league sizes are small so you can fly through the seasons, and the quality of the regens is pretty decent. I think Serbia has the highest potential for newgens, there are always these amazing Serbian regens popping up in all my saves. But probably money is harder to come by in the Serbian leagues, I haven't managed there though.

Got to have a bit of luck in this challenge! For me I’ve had a striker that has almost single handedly carried the team (113 goals in 4 seasons) but he could have broken his leg or that one season he had a minimum fee release clause someone came along and said “£140k? That’s worth a punt” and it would have been save over.
Popular Post toshimitzou1
Haukar: Season summary 2023/2024 Domestic dominance fully reinforced, winning everything in sight: In contrast, after a stellar performance in navigating 4 rounds of Champion's League qualifying to make the group stages as Part -Timers, we claimed a very depressing record: However, even in dark times there was some light at the end of the tunnel with this result in our final CL group fixture: It felt good to grab a point in the final game as a reward for the monumental effort the player's put in to get us there. We conceded about three goals per game which, considering the standard of opponent, was not too shabby. The CL monies had enabled two things: 1) We have finally attained professional status and are now the only professional outfit in Iceland and 2) We are building our first ever stadium. No more renting! And the transfer history: I think from here is the long slog to dragging up the reputation of the Icelandic league. Reflections: - Having seen this 433 DM Wide perform admirably as an underdog tactic, evidenced quite finely in the recent draw with a strong Ajax side and purveyed throughout CL qualifying, I am less pessimistic about how long it may take to win the Champions League. - In order to be able to attract half-decent staff who can actually train players to reach their potential, the leagues reputation needs to be dragged up. - European football qualification extends the Icelandic football season beyond it's natural end date in September. Their was some serious fatigue in my squad in those CL group games. I will be arranging far less than the thirty-odd friendlies I have done in the previous seasons.
Popular Post glennuk
Worthing FC - Season 13 - End of Year Review League - 1st It was a LOT more comfortable than it looks. Our end of season form was sooo bad, we did have some hard games, but I think the tiredness in the squad and the occasion got to the young players a bit. We were however pretty much top all season. The Squad Our weakness is going to be our Full Backs as Alastair Teague (YP08E) is leaving on a free and Tom Roberts (YP01F) isn't great, although is now successfully retrained as a LB, so could fill either spot. Jay Mitchell (YP11B) is going to be great for the club and has been steadily improving while performing on the pitch. I don't know what to do with Kady Snowden (YP03B) and Simon Korhonen (YP02H) as they are both not up to scratch in terms of attributes, but play really well on the field. Is a 7.00 rating from a bad player, better than a 6.75 from a good player? Daniel Garner (YP05H) took a big leap forward this year and even though he and Gary Brough (YP03A) are not the best attribute wise, they perform well and are pretty consistent. Jean-Claude Kitoko (YP06A) is one of my favourite youth/fake/regen/newgen players in my FM life (been around since CM3) he is very consistent and the only issue is when he leaves for DR Congo duty. The Finances We have skirted in and out of the red this season, but that is largely due to the fact my board are still pretty forward thinking and have approved alot for us. Sponsorship is still increasing year on year which is also good. The Accolades Jean-Claude Kitoko (YP06A) won all the awards. Sky Bet League Two player of the year, top goalscorer and in team of the year, along with five others. Legendary! Looks like I've made it. Youth Category 2 It's an expensive upgrade, but one I hope is worth it. We are at Exceptional & Exceptional in Youth Recruitment and Junior Coaching, good Youth Facilities and Cat 2 Youth Level. Pretty impressive for a just promoted to League One side. Edited June 4, 2022 by glennuk
Daddy
2037/38 Season Review: As detailed in the last couple posts I had lost the top few players on the team. Still a good squad but once it became apparent we weren't going to run away with things I made the choice to focus on some younger players. I had some players in their mid 20s at their ceiling just barely ahead of the next crop of youngsters. The goal difference was still fine, but this was the first time under +30 since the 31/32 season. We met the club expectation of qualifying for Europa, and were actually in it until the final couple matches. The difference in player quality was definitely noticeable from the last few years though. Our newest wonderkid The big highlights are the players at the top. Ohana, Shlomo, and Feldman were moved on to make room for younger players. Two had asked to move on anyway. Youth Intake: Neat to see the Colombian affiliate give a player this fast, or it's a coincidence. Another strong top half, but no one quite ready to start. 2038/39 Season Preview: One of the things I've noticed the last few seasons as we were making pushed in Champions League and against the other top teams in our league was for a possession focused tactic we were out-possessed very frequently. Because the tactic focused on getting ball into box we didn't get a lot of quality shots. Then losing the players that did the scoring for us it got even worse. As a result I'm working on a more direct, less possession based tactic and switching from 4-2-3-1 to 4-3-3(DM). Mixed results thus far. I need to finish top three to meet club expectations. If it's looking bad I'll just switch back to keep safe. Side note, there's a new owner. It was an internal take over but he has a different personality. He's a little more demanding, and he is mad I'm not spending the transfer budget. For Europa to make the group stage we needed to win the third qualifying round ands the playoff. The 2-0 loss was just brutal goaltending and the tactic not yielding enough goals. We miss our goal of reaching the group stage. We're not spending the transfer budget. Job security has gone from Untouchable two seasons ago to "stable." I have to reach the first knockout of the Conference League now for club vision. I'll also have to try in the State Cup to keep the owner happy. This is a group we should be winning, and definitely finishing no worse than second. Edit: Forgot to mention I've just set my best players to automatically reject all transfers. Some players will have release clauses as that's the only way to keep them signed. Can't do much about those. Basically the expectations are now to high to lose players when I can't do anything with the money. I either go down losing good players or go down destroying club dynamics. I'll take the one with the best chance to win. SkiIIs
Season 2030/31 - League 1 Couldnt have asked for anything more on the field this season. After spending a considerable amount of time in the relegation spots last year, we definitely improved and were close to the playoff spots whilst never really contending. Season started off with a testimonial for legacy goalkeeper and captain Boney. Press clearly havent been following us as he definitely wasnt in his 0th year and played a lot more than 43 games! At 32 years old, it was time to transition him out with a couple of great prospects to go with, ended up selling him for a small sum after his testimony. He wanted a new challenge anyways. The board again went against my protests in selling a couple of my best players, luckily in this case Lucas decided to go to Bournemouth so ended up getting the higher transfer fee. Dont know why they would approve the other offer! The disappointing thing is the % of profit clause in stead of % of next sale, its stung me a few times already in this save. The positive thing is the board finally approved to improve the youth facilities which cost us whatever bank balance we had from the transfers. What should have cost us 1.6m to improve our youth facilities to Average, ended up needing a fricken 7m loan to complete, like wtf man!?!?!? This has seriously pissed me off! Seems like they are absolutely bat sh*t at completing projects: On top of that, our youth intakes have been really poor the past couple of seasons with a lot of really poor personalities despite having a determined HOYD. Will give him one more year YI preview: Youth Intake: Next year Im hoping for consolidation again, have approved for my best striker to be sold but I have a really decent prospect to replace him. Im a bit thin in defence as in the summer transfer window my left back got poached at a really cheap minimum transfer clause. We go again!

aldojags
Great progress @glennukand @toshimitzou1the icelandic project will be fun if you have patience for it! @Daddythr auto reject thing - I used to have this but I found it just resulted in board accepting deals I wasn't happy with, without the appropriate sell on clauses. The board AI in this is horrendous, why would they agree to selling a youth prospect without an agreed sell on clause. So I took it off and just judge it myself now and usually end up taking little less money but with some clauses etc added on. The winger on the nxtgen list looks great, you must have sold some amount of players now across Europe, you must be loaded!
