At the start of the season, we had a player, out of contract, but still at the club. I thought nothing of it, he's at the club, I can just extend his contraact from month to month to actual part time right ?

And then at the end of the season, the Season Review announces that we had a new arrival.........
I checked the transfer history, and he was signed  on June 14th so season 22/23. But with NO CONTRACT ! How can you sign a player with no contract ?
So the question is : Can I continue my challenge with that player, or is it over ?

By the way, my newgen are also counted as free transfer on the end of season review timeline, but not in the transfer center, that should be OK right ?

I belive so, he was an amateur contract before the reset date. So he is part of your original squad. @XaW correct me if im wrong please.

About the newgen its the same thing, he is from the 23 intake (AI) one.

Sorry to bombard (getting some time to play the game this weekend).

I qualified for the Europa Knock Out Playoffs but because I wasn't in the top 8 (qualify for the Knock Out directly) I was asked by the media about being knocked out of the competition, questioned whether I had actually qualified but I have indeed (drawn against Standard Liege), another new feature (Europa League Reform) not fully tested

Correct, but I played for 9-10k last season, and they are going to build a 13k stadium. And minimum specs for 2nd division are 15k. So they are not thinking of the future.

Season summary 2027 - 2028

Another Bundesliga survival and yet another great youth intake

 

Our second season in the Bundesliga and as expected it was another year battling against relegation. We started the season really well, but we also faced several relegation competitors at home in the beginning of the season so it was really crucial wins! After the good start we started to struggle a bit, but no more than expected and overall I think we played better than last year. The big difference from last season was that the teams around us were more even in their performances and compared to the 12 points last season we finished just 5 points above direct relegation even though we finished with more points. 

A big highlight this year was a 1-0 home win against Bayern Munchen, a victory that occured when we were in terrible form which made it even better. 

Halfway through the season we promoted our best youngster, goalkeeper Noah Dittloff to the first team and he really delivered. A class player already at 16, let's hope we can keep him! 

We had another really good youth intake, the last years have been a blessing. The only negative is that we are getting many central midfielders and even though many of them have good defensive skills they are quite short, so we are having some trouble regarding the future of our CB positions. Our best U19 strikers also haven't progressed as well as I'd hoped so that is a bit of a worry, but overall I certainly can't complain!! 

Next season will also be about survival, but I hope we can survive a bit more comfortable!

They played so well but just came up short, next year is our year, full season review thing is coming soon.

Brilliant season for us at mumbles, we somehow managed to reach the semi finals of the champions league, with the handy little 10000-1 chances of winning reaching the semi finals was an unexpected, very pelasant surprise. The league was incredibly close as our squad lacks depth and we were very tired throughout the season. Beating newcastle was a massive highlight as they had ruined our runs many times before. We have a new star CB from Lithuania in Armantas Mirauskas, however, I doubt we'll be able to keep him for too long as he's way too good for the team. Hopefully he'll stick with us for a few more years. Youth intake had some high potential players but none that are close to ready for first team experience yet, I'm looking forward to next season.

Masłowski literally lost I think 10 determination as it was at last over 16.

Second.
I've got first time poached player in FM23 (day after intake), the interesting thing is that the poached player is foreign (sadly for me) and second part is that he is poached by team from Germany which didn't happen ever for me. Sadly because the SpVgg plays in regional league

Finally a treble! After three years losing the final we won...on penalties against Gala...so was close. 6th championship and 4th supercup, Also our best result in CL. QF....we lost just by one goal against Inter Milan. We lost two players this year to Min fee. CINELI and ERCAN left for 20 and 22mln. They ware replaced by 17 year old YAYLI and 16 year old VURAL. Thankfully we still got GULERYUZ in the attack.

CL Final was betrween Chelsea and Newcastle!  Chelsea won their 4th cup with big ears. LEBRETON with his second Ballon d'Or. This time in shirt of Man City. No suprises anywhere.

We need beter defense players to make a chance for best 4 clubs...and a bit good luck ofcourse.

Sale fo CINELI...did not cost us alot and YAYLI played well.

Intake was decent with two elites. A striker and midfielder. We need defenders! Or a goaly...im afriad BAS will leave.

Best of the bunch. YILDIZ is Driven...with amazing determination and work rate. Looks like future first team player.

We had a fantastic start to the league, but had a horrific slump in November which saw us fall out of contention for promotion. Due to that there was no pressure in the back half and I was able to give more fresh players chances to see who is worth keeping. We played fine and registered a 5th place finish.

We hit jackpot for lower league Luxembourg with Ruben Caeiro at LM. He’s fast  with flair & consistent with a decent enough personality. Now we have two good LMs

Got a new CM who will play our CM (A) roll as he's the first non-slug CM I've gotten

Lots of other players who are better than my current options and a few who are finally Consistent, which should help clear out the poor performers.

In a surprise move our CB decided to reject our contract offer and accept a Cape Verde club's offer, which sucks as he performed well for us and was half-decent. Best of luck to him.

After the relegation firing in my last attempt I'm taking my time building up the squad. This season saw 8 fresh players in the first 11+5 who did reasonably well all things considered. With this year's intake there will be even more youngsters to bed in and I'll be able to release another batch of players as we slowly develop our Portuguese & Cape Verdian squad.

In this save we stick it to the Barca board and try to recreate a La Masia CL winning team. 

We started with rumors:

This is nice… A random event that changes a players mental attributes, never seen this before. He’s certainly been training a lot better since.

We have our Academy Coaching on par with our recruitment now.

 

 

After all the investments, Youth Intake day won’t be something I’m looking forward to…Let’s hope our HoyD is very much mistaken…

And it looks like he changed his mind;

The best players have much better technical ability than the current squad:

Garrido, a good all round striker.

Calvo; Will be shadow striker.

Sicart. Will be retrained as central midfielder. Another nice all round player.

Groves, Also has US nationality. Is a DM, but will be retrained as a BPD. Could be a set pieces specialist.

 

Finances have been better, we get an improvement to the training facilities.

And later in the season another improvement: The board is easily persuaded when I argue that we get left behind by our rivals.

The only clubs with better than excellent Junior Coaching and Youth recruitment are Real Madrid and Barcelona. We are set for the future. La Liga 2 TV money is sufficient for the upkeep so let the wonderkids rise…

 

The season went quite well. The AI managers are quite bad at managing fitness of their squad. The bottom 6 teams were quite weak and easy to beat. The top 6 were much too strong and would do well in La Liga, most of them had good cup runs. We were quite potent in attack again, but very shaky at the back. The GK is still developing, the DC are among the best players in the squad. The fullbacks were very underwelming and we don’t have any promising fullbacks or wingbacks in the pipeline.

 

We signed nobody of course. Carreon had to be sold to respect the registration rules.

 

 

8th is brilliant, no relegation fears. The stadium sold out all season.

In the Copa we beat who we should beat, but Sociedad was too strong for us.

A 6-1 beating of Depor was our best game, but they were weakened from their cup matches.

Commercially we improved a lot, the broadcast revenue is a gamechanger:

Club vision is exactly what we are looking for. Developing players, expanding the stadium and playing nice football. We are emulating Cruyff’s dream team in this save and I could not be happier.

To end this update I have a question:

Do B clubs work this year? I don’t have the Tercera in the game, so will there be scheduled matches? Has anyone tried it? Don’t see any recent posts about it on the forums.

Back to Serbia, and back to last day survival! After actually only missing out on a top half finish on goal difference, we had to wait until the last day of the season to nick a win over Vrsac and secure another season in the First League.

The club had a few really good looking players when I took over. Sadly, Vasilije Mijailovic had already agreed to join Radnicki in the Super League, and absolute God-like centre back Milomir Cvoric wouldn't sign a new deal. He would have made such a difference for us this season, with us having to rely on greyed-out players in at least a third of our matches at CB.

Anto Vasovic was probably our best player left standing, and he scored more than half our goals all season (28 of 53) on the way to a 7.44 average rating. Beyond Anto there weren't too many strong performances, so we'll move right along to the graduates.

As I mentioned when I took over at Brodarac, their facilities were of a good standard for this level. With our squad being so small, I was really hoping this head start would enable us to get some immediate contributors. The candidate preview promised many A's, although I was a little surprised to see a 4.5* class (so used to those 5* classes!). When the players graduated, I wasn't disappointed. Page 1 -- Page 2 -- Page 3. 13 elite talents!

With all of these players, there is a fair bit of work to do to reach their potential, but I like the look of Tasic's mentals in particular.

Without a real left-back for the whole season, I'm hoping Milos can retrain in the position to help us out.

The half-Hungarian had one heck of a debut, and is already a regular in our back 4.

We also had Dragan Radovic, Dejan Durovic, Marko Mrkic, Strahinja Starcevic, Milan Bogdanovic, Darko Jovanic, Srdan Milosevic, Mile Radic, Sasa Punosevac and Stefan Muratovic to round out our gaggle of elite talents.

On top of our double Junior Coaching upgrade, I also managed to get both National C and B licenses completed.

Next up - slightly more comfortable survival please!

After a short comeback in Iceland during the beta and a failed attempt in Belgium (bug), I was thinking about starting again with Caley Braves in Scotland but it is time for something crazy.

Afríka Reykjavík must be the first team about which I cannot find a wikipedia page and facebook page. This perhaps says everything about the hardcore challenge this will be. Hardly any players, very weak youth intakes and very difficult to get out of the lowest divisions.

Like Africanos Bragança of Portugal, this is a team with foreign newgens in Iceland. Very unique especially as it produces mostly Polish youth players, African and then players from all over the world. Why there are specifically many Polish and African players coming through from the youth academy is not clear but there are around 20000 poles living in Iceland. @XaW helped me once again with updating an existing DB. He fixed the 4.Deild. I could not fix some other issues like participating in multiple league cups , a fourth tier with 5 teams relegated is not correct. No U19 competitions (only U21 in the first tier) and no cup involvement until we reach the second tier. Also 12 subs allowed, very strange ! No game breaking things.

2026/27 Midseason Review:

My hope was to push for promotion, but I didn't expect things to go this well. What's really surprising for me is that we lead the league in fewest goals allowed. More younger players stepping in development taking off is helping and I'm able to rotate a lot more to help keep players fresh. We aren't scoring a ton, so if that takes off and the defense stays solid we're in good position.

Preview starting to look a bit more what you expect compared to the previous all A rated. Striker is our thinnest position depth wise so I'm happy to see it highly rated.

We were on a roll actually winning our first 2 matches fine and then we drew the BGL (Tier 1) champions in the 3rd round. We lost 3-2, which is understandable. One year we'll make a run at it...

We started very strong this year even with our defense getting picked apart. Halfway through we were in 2nd place with +18 GD in 15 games and we held ourselves there for the rest of the season to get the 2nd place promotion! No trophy, but I'll take getting one step up the ladder.

Really the only player I’m excited about is Jorge Henriques who is an actual Striker who desperately needs Attacking Movement focus

Due to the Portuguese clubs stealing my entire starting defensive line the defensive players will be useful. They aren’t particularly great, but I’m very short on bodies right now. All 3 of these will move to the first team and most likely will see the majority of matches if they can perform okay.

Fun fact it's just this year that we've had a repeat location in Portugal having now found players from 53 distinct locations! Wonder how many are in the game, can I recruit from them all? Luxembourg is the exact opposite with 100% coming from Luxembourg City. I just have all the locations in a list, maybe I'll do the map one of these times.

The extra notch of difficulty of this save has begun presenting itself with the insanely aggressive Portuguese Youth Teams looking to poach all my players. I've had the Portuguese top-flight loaded all save which comes with a ton of youth leagues where upwards of 25 U19 sides will be vying for my star players during a transfer window. Because of this between the CB last season we lost our entire starting back 4 from Portuguese-sides / the "improved" contract AI that insists on the locked training facility clause.  I hate that clause with a passion. And since none of my players have agents I can't do anything about it.

I'm nervous going up a tier when I'll be having to build up 2 new FBs and very well could lose another CB over the summer if I get unlucky. The club has significant midfield depth, so will still be running the 4-5-1 looking to just outscore the majority of opponents. Tier 2 has 4 auto relegation and 1 playoff relegation, so it will be a scrap to stay up.

I’ve seen both the negative change but also a positive one as well, think it was for determination as well.

I don’t believe it’s to do with mentoring I think it’s more along the lines of a “personal life event” that makes that change but the game never goes into detail as to what it actually was.

True. Sometimes that just hit the player. But if you have a low det squad it also impacts, I belive.

In my save I had a player with improved ambition. I can't remember if I had this before. It feels realistic to me, sometimes things happen in life that change a persons attitude.

Just looking through screenshots from FM20 and FM22 saves an I have increases in Ambition, Determination and Professional.  Ive also had decreases in Ambition but dont have any saves of decreases for determination or prof - but might have missed them.

Main goal of season was reached - SURVIVAL, but to be honest little bit disappointed on the end of the season. We ending 2 last months with losses and last 3 matches we finish in 10. We managed to upgreat some facilities but our training fields went down in same time. Our finances are good at the end of the season so I will beg for some improvments. In Polish Cup we lose in first round with Polonia Warszawa which was relegated from 1st League last season. Interesting season will come in next year  Of course main target will be survive again and upgreat training fields with geting new players into first squad. From next update I will add new report. It will include marked players from intake and they review at: intake, 19yo, 21yo, 25yo,30yo and when was relased or sell out. Its because first intake will turn 19yo next season.

Very nice intake with DL and maybe Striker if will change position, some nice potential DM as well.

Yeah, it happens at times, both positive and negative. It's mean to symbolize happenings outside the pitch that has big effects on players. Examples can be becoming a parent, or losing a loved one. Different people react differently to big events, some become more determined to succeed, others less, and the same goes for for the other aspects of the personality.

I decided to give it a real good go in Europe this season and made sure everyone is well rested before the big Euro games.  First game against away to Lens and we're smashed 1-5.  Next up, Man Utd then a double header against Dortmund.  I think we could be on for 6 defeats in 6 like last season!

@HenTheChickenyou're my inspiration at the moment with your performances in Europe with the mighty Mumbles!  Hopefully there is better to come

I really got the feel why I love and hate the English leagues this season. So many games to play! I both really love it, since it's a match just about every other day, and hate it for the exact same reason. The season started excellent for us as we won the first 3 matches and we were flying. Not long after, we lost the only good striker, Mo Touray, to a broken leg! A wrench in the plan, and we used a few more matches to find out how to cope without him. One big issue we had was only having a single left back, but luckily he didn't get injured until we had the youth intake. Throughout the season we hovered around the bottom of the playoff spots and down to mid-table. Quite a bit more comfortable than I had expected going into the season. In the end we finished in a very good 9th position this season, a lot of spots ahead of the 24th prediction at the start of the season. FA Cup: We beat St. Ives and Curzon Ashton before we lost to Gateshead in the 4th qualifying round.
FA Trophy: We beat Peterborough Sports before we lost to Altricham after a replay in the 3rd round.

U21 Team:

They only played friendlies.

U18 Team:

They finished 7th in the National U18 League South East this season.

FA Youth Cup: They lost to Skelmersdale United in the 1st qualifying round.

It's probably the 3rd nationality, that's what happened for me at Guiseley with French/African players. 

I'm still waiting for the Portuguese cape Verde Luxembourg trifecta at ALS Porto. I've also noticed if my player comes in with just Portugal nationality he's not getting luxembourg naturalization. Thankfully Luxembourg just cares about Home Grown, so I won't have registration issues down the line.

Season Summary

A second unbelievable season. Again we were favourites to go down so I didn't expect too much but we started pretty well. Mid-table around October with little hint as what was to come. 8 wins out of 9 and suddenly we were top of the table at christmas! we couldn't quite maintain that level of form but heading into the final four games we were second in a really strong position for automatic promotion. All four teams we had left to play were in the bottom half of the table too, all fighting for survival. we won two and lost two - it often happens playing those teams fighting for their lives at the bototm. Little annoying as it meant we were in the play offs again.

This time we got to the final only to be outplayed by Verona and beated quite easily. Still, two unlikely play-off campaigns in two seasons is a pretty impressive run for us

Players

I'm still playing my 4-6-0 formation (or 4-3-3-0) which seems to really suit my players. The best players this season were:-

Edris Ejupi 26H - My Albanian striker who can't hit a barn door with a banjo when played as striker is a different proposition when played as an AMC second striker. 20 now, looking good and made a few Albanian squads, including one that meant he missed out on the play off final. He didn't come on.

Mateo Hasani 28A -  Our second Albanian star. 19 years old, made his international debut, coveted by Serie A teams and asking to leave. 9 caps by the end of the season! He's a natural left winger but he's much better suited as an inverted right winger in my formation, which is where he usually plays. Got a wicked left foot!

Fabeo Vaccaro 25B - spent last season sulking on the bench as Hasani took his place on left wing. Moving Hasani meant he was brought back in from the wilderness - to become our best player of the season! 

Stefano Melani 29A - 17 year old central middie who convinced me to cash in on Manuel Bevilacqua 26B, our best player from last season. We sold him for 4.7m plus 50% sell on and Stefano made sure we did not miss him at all. Gonna be a cracking player if we can hold on to him!

Wonderkids

Very nice! did not expect this. I mean, only 50th, but still - we got on the list!

 

Youth

So we all know how important youth intakes are! so imagine my excitement when this preview came in....

And then picture the pure joy on my face when the intake came in and was actually judged worse!!!

i signed 4, and 2 of those 4 are temperamental personalities, my absolute least favourite. Luckily not Barbieri who gives us options at CM and LB at least.

Romagnoli 24F played 6 games this season

Bevilacqua 27A joined fellow Serie B side Sampdoria. and only did ok. He is now wanted by Lecce and looks like he'll be sold for less than we sold him for. Not ideal....

 

Career

not sure we're good enough yet to push for Serie A so I guess I'd be happy with another season of consolidation. I do need my board to give me some more upgrades but they're totally refusing!

To be fair, I didn't really look at the 2nd nationality, but in Bulgaria, despite the rules, didnt catch any player from nearby countrys in the intakes.

Another year, another 9th place finish. A little more comfortable this year, as we secured safety with 3 games remaining. Easy.

Anto Vasovic was once again our player of the season, and again he scored more than half our total goals (26 of 51). I managed to tie him down for another two years so hopefully he keeps on banging them in. After Anto, two graduates led the way which is great to see. Dragoljub Tasic 24-1 played a part in 13 goals (5 scored, 8 assists) on the way to a 7.01 average rating. Central midfielder Strahinja Starcevic 24-7 was third, taking advantage of a thin position to play plenty of games and put in a respectable 6.96 rating in 34 games.

The real story of the season came in our academy class though. After another promising looking graduate preview, I was blessed with the best prospect (from a relative CA perspective at least!) I have ever had in Mate Bagoly. Oh mate, what a player. Page 1 -- Page 2 -- Page 3

Straight into the starting lineup obviously, Bagoly looks to be the real deal. Just his personality letting him down, but we'll see what we can do there.

The Mates just keep on coming! Currently working on being a standard full back, this lad has a chance.

Svonja needs to get stronger, but otherwise he has a decent starting point for a pressing forward.

Joining these lads in the elite category were George Booth (half Scottish, no idea where that's come from!), Jovan Ilic, Milan Cermelj, Milan Lazic, Sasa Jolic, Miroslav Jovicic, Dejan Krstic, Slavko Majkic, Boban Dimitrijevic and Mihajlo Stamenkovic.

Off the field, I managed to get my A license, but the board so far have rebuffed my efforts to start the next course. We didn't have a great deal of cash all season so upgrades were out of the question, and then we got hit with the downgrade to the training facilities at the end of the season. The board decided to add 300 odd seats to the ground which I don't mind, but the £200k we spent would have been very useful to work on a few upgrades.

Next season we're gunning for a top half finish!
