Popular Post HenTheChicken
WHAT A SEASON, WHAT A SEASON. We got knocked out of the 2nd qualifying round in the champions league, which were our first games in Europe, then we practically forgot how to lose continentally, only losing at home against Sheriff Tiraspol 2-3 in the playoff. League wise our season was unspectacular, a close title race until the end against TNS. This was just such an unexpected season as we lost some great players in the preseason, I couldn't be happier! Popular Post grff
Royale Union Tubize-Braine: 2025/26 Season Review Our first season in the Belgian top flight was a very tough test and it felt at times like we were way out of our depth. However, we picked up enough points along the way to finish just above the relegation places. Player stats were way off what had been achieved before, however, this was always going to happen in a higher division. The youth intake saw a fair few handy players come in. Last year's intake included a ball winning midfielder already valued at £8.4m. No transfers out but some will be released in the coming week as they never feature in the first team squad. Unfortunately, it looks as though my star striker is off at the end of the season as he's refusing a contract renewal. I'll hopefully sell him beforehand, then get him back on loan for a season. Popular Post JLAB
Motor Lublin - Season 3 Review Having gone from the winter break in such a strong position, I knew that were promised a good intake. Boy, did we get a good intake. Jakub Tetych was the player with the best potential, and apart from his personality, looks very promising as a left-back. Mateusz Nowak looks like a player who I will be using on the left wing a lot. Needs some work, but nothing like first-team experience and training in good facilities to do the trick. Wojciech Madej is a CM that I am excited about having in the team. Looks like he could be a gem. Damian Kotko is an DM that suits my tactic perfectly, being a DLP on Defend. The last player that I am really excited about is Adam Koliałka, another CM who I think could be in the first team now. If he becomes more ambitious and gets some game time, he could be a star. Going into the winter break, things were already looking good. So when we only lose 3 times and drop points in another 3 games, things looks very good. 7 wins in the last 13 games is a promising time indeed. So when we managed to secure 3rd place and European football for the first time, it came as a massive shock. I honestly don't think we'll be ready for European football next season, but we'll give it a go either way. Especially now that we've upgraded our training facilities for the 2nd time this season, and having spent £1.8M to upgrade it, it better be worth it. We gained an extra 12.7K supporters as a result of our successful season. Thankfully, the board don't want anything too ambitious, which is a good sign. I don't think we're ready to try and work anyone's world right now. JLAB's YAC with Motor Lublin Part 6

thomas_e
In my 6th season, two promotions and great progress, you would think the board should be positive towards improvements. I think I've asked the board 25 times if we can get an affiliate club to loan out players to. 25 enquiries, 25 times I have been declined. Consider that also loans are pretty much bugged this is very, very poor. Playing this challenge is as fun as ever, but this FM version really has some odd flaws.. SkiIIs
Season 6 - 2029 - Expansion League Probably should go for a walk before posting but oh wells.... The year started off with two of my best players getting poached by First division teams. one where i could insert a sell on clause, the other that was approved by the Board which i couldnt do anything about. Both players werent going to renew their contracts so I had no choice. Players Sold: Spoiler Sol has been everpresent for us since he first came through the youth ammassing 135 league apperances for the club despite his tender age. We managed to negotiate to keep him for the remainder of the year plus a 50% sell on clause Chacon had a breakout year last season scoring 14 goals and averaging 7.20 from left wing, would have been nice to keep him for another season or two Let's get straight into the leagues. Started off like a house on fire in the opening stage then went wayward towards the end but managed to finish second in the league. We then managed to play 1 good game in each of our 2x leg knockouts in the QF, SF and Final to book our place in the final playoff game at the end of the year. Spoiler Closing stage we were pretty awful considering the where we've been fnishing in the league. We even missed out on qualifying directly into the QF's as we finished 5th. We won our prelim game but then got embarrassed by UdeG in the QF. Morelia were the winner of the closing stage so it was a repeat of the opening stage final. Morelia had to win in pens against UdeG 4 days before playing us and their team was a little jaded as we had a couple weeks off. Both legs are in the spoiler... Unfrickenbelievable!!!!! Feels like im never gonna get out of this division! Spoiler To make things worse, we had our worst intake of the save: Mascorro is the best of a bad bunch, dont really need a striker right now either:

Popular Post Redknapp_13
Hapoel Ra'anana Season Review Season 26/27 Table - Squad - U19 Squad - Transfers - Finances Nice Season in the League Tel Aviv, finishing 8th and never been in danger of going down. I didnt overthink it this time and didnt change to a defensive tactic and it worked out. We have already alot of Academy players in the first 11. Especially in central midfield and all the offensiv positions we have godd players and depth. Liel Barrett 27A and Ben David 25B in the wider positions are our two best players right now. In central midfield its Liam Elkaslasy 25A and Avi Ben-Naim 24 H who are running the show. In Defense we have big holes and the only academy player, playing regularly in the first eleven is Eliko Hadassi 25D and he is making progress slowly. This unambitious personality does not help. The next two who will become first team regulars next season are Lidan Sa'ar 26A and Lior Gennish 25B. Youth Intake 27 After the upgrades I was hoping for a good intake and the preview looked like a nice one. The only bad thing, it is again very offensive heavy with no central defenders or full backs and I need them, Two wonderful players ins Ben - Melech and Bar-On and with good personalities and high determination. Then two Defensive midfielders but unfortunately nothing for the back line. I will try to continue upgrade everything possible (finances in Israel are very nice) and survive in League Tel-Aviv

Popular Post MadCatPT
Starting the season with 15 players, 2 of those GK's was scary, can't remember a time that I started with so few players. No left back, players with high wages and age. The backup GK wanted a move and was let go to be a backup to another team. At the start used one of the recommend options and formations from the Assistant Manager, Wing Play from a 4-3-3 DM. The start was not the best, but like Seagulls stealing food we stole a couple of wins with two late penalties. I quickly adjusted, checking the lack of pace of my team turned off the pass into space, and reduced the directness, the team blossomed after that. My front five had a10+ Vision and good Passing attributes and Off the Ball so they started scoring regularly, to help the defense I changed to a more possession based approached that also helped close out games. Still struggled to deal with 2 striker partnerships, my central defense lacks quality players, luckily most of the league played with just 1 up front. With just 13 outfield players I had to use gray players to try and keep my players rested, had to change training to Team Bonding/Recovery on weeks with 2 games to do it also, when I rested the team I experimented on my tactics. When my tactic was familiar I started developing a second one in those games. Was lucky in the FA Cup, always playing Non League, same level and two Vanarama National League teams in bad form, then when I got have got a Premier League team I faced WBA, still some nice money. After literally begging I was able to improve my Youth Recruitment and both training and youth facilities. The Youth Intake brought instant relief to a team that was getting tired, and we went on a nice run, after that we started into bad form right into the Playoffs were we lost after extra time. Next season I don't expect such lofty highs, I was able to resign all the team back after the Intake, before they were asking for a lot of money, but the engine of my Team was a Vanarama National League rated player that did everything as a AP(a) in the midfield, he is now old and rated for the division below, I also resigned two old players that I normally let go but I don't have anyone at their level so even if they just give me half of what I got last season it should be enough to avoid relegation. Several of the other players I want to be able to let go next year, they are also getting old and Youngster should be able to replace them. Next year wish list for the Youth Intake are a couple of central defenders and a right wing back. Edited November 22, 2022 by MadCatPT

Barnsley
FC United Of Manchester - Season 8 I am a bit stuck for progress at the minute, going into my 9th season shortly. My youth players are okay, everytime I get a new one who i think will add strength, one of my other good ones considers his options and wants to leave. The part time and only being able to offer 1 year deals is really frustrating currently. I am not sure how to get out of this but I am nowhere near the top, and unable to get anywhere near it! I think if i did get promoted i would come back down with the least amount of points possible. But if i could somehow get to Pro status, i would be able to develop the players better and this will give me the best chance overall going forward! Have tried every formation going, cannot stop conceding the goals balls over the top and one and one. Popular Post the_hdk
Kaf Sin Kaf Season 37/38 (15) - Super Lig Transfers / Players Great season ofcourse...but we ware very close to another treble but the cup finale was when Turiye was going to play so we missed 7 1st 11 players. Still 7th championship...one more to equal Trabzon. CL we ware close to an upset but Juve beat us with two goals in 90th and 94th min...so untill 89th min we ware in semi finals. very sad...I had to stop playing for few days after that. The cup was in the end won by Spurs so this could have been our year. Sadly our Izmir rivals Altay relagated after only one season in top flight. This year we changed teh defence a bit. Our old captain AVCU left to Kasimpasa as a youngster passed him in skill. (BASTURK). Also in central defense DEMIRCAN left for Cambridge (newly promoted to Premier league) for 7mln and was reaplaced by BOZKURT. We will probably lose ATES as he already announced he's not going to extend his contract in 1,5 year. I declined 20 mln last year for him :(. Our greats (BAS, YALCIN and GULERYUZ) all extended their contract thankfully. LEBRETON with 3rd Ballon d'Or in a row. New (French) Messi? First year we see three regens in the top list. Not the greatest intake. I assume its because we are having world class players in our team now. SEN looks promising. SEN has ok determination and work rate. Fairly proffesional...amazing Bravery and teamwork. Looks like a future starter.

I prioritize JR Coaching as it's the most instantaneous effect on increasing the quality of intake players. In larger nations like England upgrading Youth Recruitment too quickly can snowball the academy costs to unsustainable levels. There, the top priority for me is Youth Rating and Youth Facilities whenever I get transfer windfalls or cup earnings while watching the Youth Setup costs to make sure I can remain in budget. Small nations like Luxembourg I don't feel Youth Recruitment really impacts the save all that much especially if you start as an urban club. You need reputation to pull in players from distance and small nation teams like my ASL Porto have zilch.

Dereka
Has anyone noticed differences in what does or doesn't work in FM23 regarding youth development, when compared to FM22? I still use the same approach, but the only change I've noticed is that fining young players for poor performances seems to be less effective this year. It's probably a good change too, because it felt a bit too easy raising Determination and Workrate last year with constantly fining.

They nerfed the effectiveness a few years ago so it wasn't every time you got the bump. Both in my England save and Luxembourg I've been able to see improvements with the fines. I even got the inbox notification that the discipline has improved the player once. It's maybe 1 pt a year, with Work Rate seeming to be easier to influence but that adds up. Popular Post CardiffDragon
Ho Ho How did the first season in the top tier of Finnish football go you may ask! Well i am still here......we were forecast to finish at the bottom and be relegated but after a very good start to the season we held on to finish in 9th. The big news of the year is that we turned professional and promptly lost almost £500,000, as the minimum wage is £240 for all signed players and this hit us hard financially, altough we have started to sell some shirts so there is a silver lining......a very very small one. Personally i have started on the continental pro license so almost there with qualification, obviously with the finances there is no hope of improving facilities for a long time unless we start earning in europe. Youth intake Not as many elites as the last few years but two that are almost ready to fit into the first team as subs. We are losing a lot of the more mature players to retirement and our youngsters, bar one, are not quite ready to take their places so this is likely to be a transition year and ho ho hopefully we can ho ho hold on.

Shankly84
Really struggling to get going on this one. Tried Estonia, but can’t get going after a few seasons. I’m also paranoid that additional added leagues aren’t going to function properly and it will be a waste. Estonia for instance, I beat a team in the relegation play-off only for them to still be promoted to the league the following season. Suspension rules as well!! 4 yellows is a ban, then a ban for every yellow on top of that. It’s been an absolute nightmare!! Not sure if that’s the actual rule, but it’s been crippling. Time to start again. Not sure where. Would probably prefer something already in the game and somewhere that hasn’t been completed yet. Luxembourgo Porto Season 7 2029-30: Promotion D'Honneur (Tier 2) Intro & Club | Season 1 | Season 2 | Season 3 | Season 4 | Season 5 | Season 6 | Matches | Squad |Facilities | Finances | Supporters Competitions: Cup We had a magnificent cup run this season, which completely fixed our financial situation. Granted it was in part due to a very choice draw which saw us only face 1 BGL Ligue side before the final and they were the 13th place (and relegated) Mondorf. It took us till penalties to dispatch them and it sure was a sweet victory. In the final we basically rolled over to 4th place Fola Esch, but we still made it! Spoiler League As you can see I lied when I said I planned on slowing down with this second run in Luxembourg. We had a phenomenal season going undefeated the first 12 games, and then only registering 3 total defeats in the 30-game campaign. But it wasn't a walk in the park for the trophy. Luna Oberkorn was almost as unstoppable with their league destroying striker Amar Thill who no team could stop. The entire season we were within 1-2 points of each other and switched the lead 6 times. In the end we just edged them out 75 points to 74 with 41 GD to their 40. The previous record points total for Tier 2 was 72 points, both us and Luna beat it. What a season! Spoiler Youth Academy: Youth Intake Preview Spoiler Youth Intake: Still bad personalities but a great CA DM for us and some other useful players. we are up to 60 Portuguese and 11 Cape Verde locations now! Spoiler Best Prospects Spoiler We gotta talk about Ricardo Brito, dude is perfect for us going up into the top flight getting a ready-made DLP designed for a switch to a 2DM system, which will be great moving into the tougher top flight. Tiago Gonclaves is a potential “big” man PF. Train Ricardo Santos at LB and we have the perfect bench FB sub Best XI Spoiler Club Infrastructure Having a positive bank balance from the cup meant we could return to upgrades to JR Coaching & Youth Recruitment. Very unfortunately we didn't have enough to do a first Training facility upgrade, which will be a problem this summer when that **** promise turns 4 of my starters against me Spoiler Transfers This year wasn't too bad, but the activity from Portuguese clubs forced me to offer contracts to players who locked in the Training Facilities Promise so this summer will be ... interesting. On the outs this year were my 2nd and 3rd choice RM, my utility sub DM as well as my 3rd choice GK. The only starter departing was my LB & VC Rosalino 03a, but we got new FBs last intake and our new LB had speed so was better anyways. All losses easily covered by promoting the appropriate depth youth from the U21 squad and the seasons results speak to it. Spoiler Couldn't counter these due to him being upset form not upgrading Training facilities In a twist my DM utility player apparently hates our club but enjoys playing for me? So wouldn't sign a new deal. annoying. Coaching Badges None Thoughts If we were keeping our whole squad over the summer I wouldn't be worried about next season but we are losing some seriously key players (most likely) due to the Training Promise - our Starting GK, CM(A), LM & Striker: Spoiler Offensively that's losing 29 goals and 16 assists in the league which is contributions to over half of our goals (68). While I have depth in all the positions, these are hands down the best players for each of their respective positions and as you can see they are developing well. Also there is the worry about Luna Oberkorn in the topflight with us next year as they will be fighting as well to beat the drop, so we will need these goals if they keep their squad together. With our 5* intake Ricardo Brito (who came after we guaranteed promotion so is signed to a 3 year + 2 year extension contract!!!!) we will be switching from my 4-5-1 with 1 DM to a 'deep' 4-2-3-1 2 DM system. I like the lower starting position of wide midfielders instead of Attacking Midfielders. The space left open for them as they cut inside has been crucial for our quick counter attacks as well as the AI still struggles to pick up CM(A) coming forward out of the midfield. Spoiler To start I'll use the same instructions, but of course things may change once we see how it performs in the top-flight To start next season, the board has just to "Attempt to avoid relegation from the BGL Ligue" but that's what I had last go around with ASSL Fels. Hopefully I don't have to find out if they'll be kind or cruel. Good news though that they will be building a new stadium! Our 250-capacity training field has felt tight this entire save, but at least it was cheap to maintain. Cup: No cup action for us because of the DB issues. U21: no competition. First XI| Overall Best XI | Transfers | Youth Intake 2023 Not a very balanced squad and three of the first eleven players will retire. Cataño had a great season and is our best player, not sure if i will be able to keep him much longer. Finances & Upgrades Profile Club | Finances | Facilities We turned semi-pro right before the start of the season but we can't offer semi pro contract at the moment. Iceland Watch Next Season Not a bad first season with a very strange senior qquad. I hope to make a bit of progression every year but am still far away from becoming a promotion candidate There is a big chance that I will restart this save since someone is planning to release a good database without any cup and u19 issues for iceland . If this is the case I'll restart this adventure with Afrika, luckily I'm only in season 2.
