But if I then have the choice to start with a club no-one is playing with, then I'll choose that option, instead of a club where someone already playing with. If I was already a season or so underway, then I continued with that club. I really don't mind if someone is chosing the same club as me, or vice versa. Recently someone was posting season updates more quickly than I take to review and update my backroom staff each season . My own fault as I like a fairly big db and plenty of playable leagues, and can't help but micromanaging everything. I even do all the media stuff, even though its always the same old nonsense!
Popular Post Barnsley
Season 10 mini lil update FC United - we are on to something at the minute. I don't know how or where as i haven't changed a thing. I guess another season together and another year older. But we have started like a house on fire! Although i have drawn 4 of the last 5 league games and haven't been playing the best. This is my longest unbeaten run throughout. I am using a 4-2-3-1 (yes I know), on FM22 I did a clean sweep with Forest Green playing a 3412 from League Two to CL winners, and I really want to emulate that here as it felt brilliant to win that way, but the players just dont suit yet. I have always wanted to get a 4-4-2 working too but never been able to find the balance. I concede way too many goals so i just need to try and outscore everyone i can, which is working currently. 4 clean sheets in 18 games total explains the issue we have. but we fire the goals in. (after I post this - i know i will now go on a losing streak of 5-6 games and completely ruin the work )
Popular Post benrollo
We're going up! As if they were spurred on by recent successes in this thread, the Brodarac Boys played their hearts out on the way to a 5th place finish after the split for the final 7 games. Seeing as Graficar are not able to be promoted, we gladly took their place in the playoffs! The final pitted us against Kolubara, who have been in the Superliga for the last few seasons, but always flirting around the relegation playoff zone. We lost the first leg away 2-1, and quite frankly we were battered. Missing our best defender Dragan Radovic 24-4 through suspension clearly hurt us. Thankfully, he was back for the second leg, and we put in a much-improved performance to win 2-0, and secure promotion! For the third season in a row, Anto Vasovic (7.32 Avg) was our best player. But for the first time, he didn't score more than half our goals - rubbish. OK, he still got 21 goals. But he does appear to be on the decline, and has a couple of youngsters snapping at his heels. After Anto, Dejan Durovic 24-5 (7.06 Avg) played well out on the right wing. He had big boots to fill after we were pretty much forced to sell Dragoljub Tasic 24-1 (more on that in a second), and did a good job on the way to 9 goals and 7 assists. Mate Bagoly 25-1 (7.04 Avg) rounded out the top 3, having the kind of season I was hoping for when he came through the graduate class last year. So, Tasic. Basically, club option contract extensions still seem to be broken in Serbia. Very occasionally I can trigger one - seemingly at random - but it's just not an option to trigger it 99% of the time. So despite thinking I had 4 more years of Tasic, I actually only had 1. Teams were sniffing once he announced he was going to leave us at the end of his deal, so I had to sell. I got a measly £90k for him, but I did manage to get a 50% of next sale clause inserted. He's valued up to £1.8m as we speak, so I'm hopeful that will net us a few quid down the line. But basically, this whole paragraph is a moan at SI for them to sort out club option extensions. Let's move on to the new graduate class. We were once again promised a super looking class, but the end result was actually a little disappointing - at least from a current ability point of view. Hopefully there are some potential stars in here, but looking at the starting attributes of the class, it's our poorest one yet: There were 11 elite talents though, so let's take a look. Straight in as our number 1, which says more about our previous keeper than Goran. But I'm hoping he'll grow into a strong stopper. Honestly no idea how well anyone in this class will develop, but Milan has a long way to go to fit into either a wing or forward role. Actually a pretty decent base to start from, and hopefully Bagoly shares some of his central midfield magic with Marko. I won't even list the other elite players as there are loads, and none of them really look up to much! Off the field, we were in the red most of the season so improvements to the club were out of the question. I managed to get up to the Continental B license, but the board won't yet let me go for the next one. Here's my Overview. Right at the end of the season, I did manage to twist the board's arm to let us improve the youth recruitment, so that's a step in the right direction. Financially I'm in limbo basically until we sell a few more players, especially as we've gone professional now. Here's hoping I can at least get some decent money for them when the offers start rolling in (looking at you, Bagoly). Next season, we do absolutely everything we can to survive. The board only expect us to have a go at avoiding relegation, so hopefully my job will be safe either way. They have also inserted that wonderful expectation of developing players through the youth facilities, so that should buy me some time too!

Daddy
2027/28 Midseason Review: First season in the top league and doing alright. If we win it's usually a 1-0 or 2-1 type of match, but there have been a few lopsided losses to put a real dent in the GD. Five matches left before the league splits, and four of them are team ahead of us. Odds are we go to the relegation group, but I think we're safe. Switzerland changed their league rules and it is chaotic looking, so I really don't know what's going to happen. I just want to stay up and get that prize money to invest in the facilities. Intake Preview: I'll always be happy for good prospects at CB and we need scoring help so I'm happy to see it looks to be heavy on talent there.

He was off to sunny Burnley. Against the odds and with a terrible front line, we managed to achieve tenth place, avoiding the dreaded relegation group. Our stats were a bit of a mess as some underperfoming players couldn't be dropped due to no quality backup options. Our top scorer achieved 9 goals The youth intake was given a rubbish preview but looked much better when the players arrived. Details of our transfers. The outgoing transfer of our star striker was hard to take. It looks like our keeper is off next as he is wanted by the giants of Europe. Popular Post HenTheChicken
There's another promotion! Love to see it. Finances are still iffy but this years youth intake was INCREDIBLE with 6, maybe 9 starters once they hit 16, this rule is killing me. We've managed to get youth recruitment to excellent despite the fact we've not been in the green since February 2025, so I love the board backing me here. I'm hoping promotion brings us a lot of money, but we'll see. We scored the most in the league and conceded the 2nd most so we could really use better defense, but its a long process. If my mumbles save is anything to go by the goals conceded will drop within quite a few youth intakes. Also youth team was not promoted not sure why I thought that League Performance Spoiler Not a good 2nd stage, only scoring 13 points in 10 games, but it was just about enough to get promoted so I can't complain, hope we can stay up next season! Cup Performance Spoiler We don't talk about how I can't manage a cup run Youth Intake Spoiler Beautiful. Genuinely beautiful. Denius is already starting as he's 16, thank god. But the 2 star players aren't playing yet. All in all, a pretty good season, squad has stayed basically the same so there's not much point in showing it, but next season when some prospects come up you will (hopefully) not be disappointed. Popular Post benrollo
It must be easy to tell when my wife is away with work, because I get to post twice in one day Our first year in the Superliga was actually relatively comfortable. Yeah the goal difference at the end isn't great, but we did a good job of beating teams around us and being competitive against some of the bigger teams. We ended up topping Group B to finish the season which was really encouraging. Stop me if you've heard this one before - Anto Vasovic (7.27 Avg) was our best player. He's certainly on the decline, but 16 goals in the Superliga is no mean feat! Our half-Scot George Booth 25-4 came in next with a 7.06 average. He took advantage of the departure of Bagoly (we'll come to that) to be the driving force in our midfield, scoring 6 and setting up another half-dozen. Winger Dejan Durovic 24-5 (6.92 Avg) was third after finishing the season strong. We sold two starters this season. Dragan Radovic 24-4 actually did have a contract that ran for a couple more seasons, but his moaning was so toxic I ended up giving in. He moved to Partizan for £140k, along with a 50% next profit clause. Our other sale was accepted by the board, and it was superstar Mate Bagoly 25-1 who left. I always knew he wouldn't be sticking around here long. AC Milan ended up getting him for £600k - I managed to convince the board to add a sell on clause, and we got a 20% of next profit clause added. That may well come in handy, with him being valued at up to £14.5m already. On to the arrivals. Another promising looking class, and another set of graduates dripping with potential. Great to get an immediate contributor too, in the shape of... We are overloaded with right wingers, so I'm working on getting Markovic up to speed with the pressing forward role that he may well end up taking from Vasovic. Another right winger (and one who can't yet play in my system!). That dribbling though. Full of running and loves crunching people. My kind of central midfielder. Off the field, the Bagoly money was put to use immediately, getting us up to exceptional Junior Coaching, Recruitment up to adequate, and a Continental A license for me. Hopefully we'll get a couple more recruitment upgrades over the coming months too. Here's my Overview. I'm kind of counting down the days to getting a few quid in the bank for one of our sell on clauses. That could change things if we can get facilities upgraded, although I cannot request a youth facility upgrade at present. On the field, I'm not sure how much we will miss Bagoly - he was clearly a great player at our level but central midfield is one of my strongest areas of the pitch. Hopefully we can stay safe in the Superliga and get another great graduate class.

The Final season. 16 seasons it took me...and we finish in style with a quadruple!. We finish with 8 championships, 2 cups, 6 super cups and one champions league. Kaan Dobra has finished his goal! More about the CL finale at the end. I see I forgot to update the Ballon d'Or on teh pcture and im too lazy to go back but it was won by SEGURA spanish player playing for Chelsea. With 93 points we really dominated this season. We also finish with 466 mln EUR in the bank. Sadly still no affiliates and no improvement of youth facilities. Epic finish. Youth Last year intake was amazing. Three elite players who can make the first team. Especially TASKAN with resolute persoality is high potential. For the last update and overview of all intake players per region. Aegean with 207 is the big winner. Altough last few years we ware getting more and more players from all over Turkiye. Key Players And the three key players of this save BAS (vice captain) was a brilliant goaly. In the CL final he saved two huge opportunities and we could not have done it without him. YALCIN the Captain. The leader. The rock. Already 58 caps at age of 26, he will probably end up with around 100. The first Wonderkid we had and i'm more than happy that he stayed till the end with us. Giving him the armband was vital in that. GULERYUZ the star striker...already 20 goals for Turkiye...his pace is amazing and he was the MoM of the final. His goal was crucial (altough he had 4 1 on 1 chances). Champions League Final The teams: 1-0 from GULERYUZ. Easy tuck in 5th minutae. It was our 3rd chance of the game already. Blitzball baby. 1-1 from Barcelona in 84th min from Romanian SALI. It gave hope to the Catalonians. 2-1 in 91st min! the winning goal after a great run by VURAL. The celebrations...continued for 4 days in Turkiye (and continued long after the cup final). And so we win...and I finish the challange. I loved it. First time I managed to finish it in three years. Sadly Turkiye didn't have alot of foreign intake but I loved playing there. Alot of interesting clubs with rich history. Amazing intakes...much better than I remember in Poland or Netherlands. Congrats, that's a very quick completion. Have added you to HoF (sorry for the delay but I've not had time to read the thread last couple of days)
darren1983
I have also updated the map in the OP thanks to @Winski Also quick reminder as I can often go a couple days without reading the thread, if there is a completion just tag me in the post or in a follow up and that way I'll likely see it quicker

Barnsley
7 hours ago, Barnsley said: Season 10 mini lil update FC United - we are on to something at the minute. (after I post this - i know i will now go on a losing streak of 5-6 games and completely ruin the work ) The next batch of games went badly as I knew it would. In such a terrible mood here - i thought season 10 was the one it all went horribly wrong and i cannot stop it. I just can't win. Somehow managed to get 13 points behind top of the league from the position I was in. I am not sure what other people do in this situation? but there is nothing i can do it to stop it or change it. I feel like i dont influence it and it just happens.

We won the league without a doubt. Only 4 defeats ( 2 after we won the league) and 103 goals is a statement. Who is Gemici ( Still no new team after one year - Ridiculous). My top prospect Mehmet Kalkan scored 47 goals this season. 39 in the league, 8 in the cup with 2 against Fenerbahce but we lost 3-2 in the 5th round against them. Popular Post glennuk
@darren1983 - I hope you don't mind an FM22 post. But Challenge Completed! FM22 Worthing FC - Season 34 - End of Year Review - Can We? Did we? League - 1st An amazing league campaign, which almost got derailed at the last hurdle. With 5 games left we were 8 points clear at the top. With arguably an easy (ish) run with 3 very winnable games. We only got 6 points from those first 4 games and just needed a draw away to Tottenham to win guarantee winning the league (as Man City had won their first four games and closed the gap). League....completed! We did our best to make it hard for ourselves with only 7 points from our last 5 games, but what a ride this season was. We were lucky in the fact that Man City had their worst season for a while and we had an amazing start of the season, which meant when the dip came we had enough of a gap to survive. Europe After winning the European Super Cup against Man U, we had a mini European win. Little did I know we would have a crazy tournament in the Champions league itself. We comfortably cruised past Sampdoria (an easier draw than we have had in the past) and AS Monaco in the first two rounds. However the semi final against Bayer 04 was a different story. After winning 4-1 in the first leg, I thought it would be an easy road to the final, but we were battered and just held on to win on aggregate. We were in the FINAL vs Man U of all people. We beat them in the European Super Cup, could we do it again? Yes! Yes we could. We did the DOUBLE! Technically the Triple (with the European Super Cup) and we have BEATEN THE CHALLENGE!!! For a long time I thought I would never complete this challenge and almost gave up (5 in game years ago). I also NEVER thought we would win both in the same season, but we got such a lucky draw, with the fact that we faced teams that all finished 2nd, 3rd or 4th in their respective leagues. Also it's crazy that the only reason I am in the Champions League this season, is due to winning the Euro Cup last season! We won comfortably vs Man U who had a terrible league season and were 11th. To be in the Champions league final against an 11th placed team is some stroke of luck indeed! Champions League....completed! If you are interested to see what my Youth players looked like at the end of the challenge, they are all in the FM22 Youth Academy Challenge Thread (post link here - Edited November 25, 2022 by glennuk
Popular Post Cultured Left Foot
If you'd like more in depth updates - the Youth Academy save is being run as YouTube series on my channel here : Cultured Left Foot END OF SEASON 2 UPDATE We survived again in the National League North making progress on and off the pitch and integrating a number of the youngsters too. The season started well again with us comfortable in the playoff positions after 10 games but it soon settled into a more expected rhythm and we ended season 2 comfortably in midtable. We tailed of slightly towards the end of the season as we introduced some players from our 2nd youth intake and gave some more gametime to other youngsters. We did manage to get our best ever points total and league finish in the National League North. We earnt a new contract and the club agreed to fund another coaching course (our 3rd in 2 years). The now fan owned club agreed to increase our academy coaching - which should help with this save! This moved us from Average Academy Coaching to Adequate Academy Coaching. Top scorer (again) Jamie Cassidy signed a new contract and extended his stay at the club. We had another Youth Intake, the preview was okay, and the intake itself produced a couple of good talents that can enter the first team squad immediately. Stand out players are Holt, Harper and Johnson: With Johnson scoring on his debut! Which is always great to see... The best youngster of Season One was Byrne at centre back who helped "steady the ship" after Sikora left. He is nowhere near as good as Sikora, but his first season in senior football went well and he'll be better off for it as we head into season 3! And finally, who better to coach our defensive players than former Scottish International Christophe Berra! A good, solid year. Its getting harder and harder as the more senior "real" players start to drop off and look towards retirement. But, that is the joy of the save! Wish us luck for Season 3!
phnompenhandy
@Cultured Left Foot I didn't realise you posted the career here - I follow your save on YouTube. I'm a massive fan of lowest league and academy challenges. I'd love to share my career here, but I'm managing Loch Ness, using a lower league mod and choosing the team I manage to nowhere.

Popular Post SkiIIs
Season 7 - 2030 - Expansion League Season 7 and we still find ourselves in the same division as when I first took over after having lost in penalties in the play off game last year. We again started the preseason with another sale and again i was able to delay the transfer date to the end of the year and also slip in a 50% sell on clause. Opening Stage: we again were one of the better teams in the league form finishing first on goal difference giving us a great chance to make it a hattrick of opening stage titles. We did just that really being clinical in the knockout legs only drawing 1 game and winning the other 5 games. Spoiler Closing Stage: we lost our second game of the season away at our rivals Correcaminos but then after that we didnt look back, winning 11 and drawing 4. We were super consistent and had the momentum going into knock out games. In the knockout games we managed to lift it a notch even further cruising to the Closing Stage tiel meaning there was no play off game required as we won both opening and closing stages. Spoiler Took us a while, but we're finally be competing against the best in Mexico! Much of this years success goes to Jimenez who played his first full season and scored more than a goal a game breaking all records. Youth preview had 4 players as A's with 3 of them being DM's and 1 GK. This is what came through. Best of the bunch is probably Hernandez (yes its cos he's my first Colombian). Awesome finisher, lovely personality and quite determined as well. The other miracle happened in March when the Board accepted my junior coaching upgrade request which have been stuck at Average for many many years!
